That sounds wrong. If the center ball screw is snug in the pod plate, then the ball is loose in the "football" If the screws that hold the "football together are snug, then either the ball or the plastic "football" is worn out. I'd replace both the ball and the football together if one is worn out. There should be no slop in the center ball and football, and no binding.

ROAR announced a change in the weight rule for the Carpet Nats.
It is 865g.
Electronic choices make the biggest difference in car weight, you can add some aluminum or Ti screws to the car but that's about it on the chassis. Bodies also can make a difference.

These are the parts you need to make the "brushless" pod.
8511 -10R5 lower plate
8512 -10R5 upper plate
4608 -12R5 diff hub narrow
4609 -12R5 thrust cone
The motor plate is repositioned on the graphite pieces to change the weight balance of the pod. The hub and cone are needed to keep the rear width legal.

I find it hard to believe that Associated isn't selling the car with the brushless stuff in the kit. Is anyone using brushed motors any more ? WTF!

It is sold as brushless ready and brushless motors do fit quite nicely in the pod. (I've had four in there; a Tekin, Novak, LRP and Speed Passion. They all fit.) The parts that the other people are looking for will move the motor about 3mm and supposed to balance better.

I know that ... I have one . But once I found out about the centering parts for brushless motors, it took about 2 months for the hobby store to get them. I just wanted to know why associated doesnt sell the kit with the correct parts in it . Its a ploy to get us to blow another 50 bucks on parts. Kinda crappy p.r. dont you think? I know ppl that didnt get the car because they couldn't get it the way they wanted. CENTERED FOR BRUSHLESS!
