Any chance of pics with a LiPo pack mounted in the car?

in post 332 on page 12 of this thread i posted a pic of our car with a lipo saddle pack loaded in it. Saddle packs are the most effective mounting for lipos. You can fit a stick pack down the center but any pan car will not work nearly as well with that layout.

Things have been quiet here lately. Isn't anybody racing their DB10r yet?

I've looked and can't find it now. Isn't there some taller standoffs one could put on this car to fit taller lipo batteries? Like say the track power saddle, or would I just need to shim the originals?

All you would need to do is shim the existing ones. THe trak power lipo is extremely tall. You can try it but it is big. I heard SMC has one that fits. At least there was talk of them doing a saddle that will fit all of the cars.

Ive heard back from a bunch of guys so far that are racing the 10R's. They have all been enjoying them and racing them. I just dont hear many people on the forums talking about any of the pans. Pretty strange.

I've run mine for the last 5 weeks...

took 2nd place the 1st week. Then Won the last 4 weeks!

This Car ROCKS....

I've been running against 2 darksied cars..... and a few 10l3's. The darksied's have been competitive... but have been fragile. They both broke lower pod's last night....

My DB10r has been put through the "board bash" test and has held up very well.... (**KNOCK ON WOOD**)

I don't wanna jinx myself ... but I haven't broken anything yet to date...!

Thanks Jason. I had heard that SMC was working on a saddle pack, but have not seen anything official. I was thinking of trying to make the track power to fit some how. It looks like I may have sparked some interest to get this class going here so I'm looking for option to get a roar legal pack in it.

That is great news, good job on the runs man. Now I'm really confident that I will do well with this car.

Danny (SMC) says the saddle LiPo should be out in the next few weeks. There was a hold-up with the fellow making the mold for the case(s) but things are moving along now toward production. I think he said how tall the packs are but I can't recall--I'm pretty sure they're made to fit the B44 which, like the DB10R, suffered from the Track Power saddle LiPo being too tall.

Thanks! Actually it's maiden voyage will be on the rug in two weeks down here in BMI country and I was going to ask some local help on starting set up and ballpark gearing for the Novak 13.5 since I'm a bit rusty and a total brushless noob. This class looks like it's going to be a lot of fun!
