First run with the M06, you can throw it more like a FWD, the back end is totally hooked. Actually too much so, I had a hard time getting the fronts to grip. Will be adding alot of lead towards the front (to make weight). Car looks and feels great, but will be of no advantage over your current garage, which is a great thing. Add to that, the same gear ratio as the FWD's, the M06 is a direct competitor to the 03's, 04's and 05's, but im sure some will still think one of them has an advantage! lol

I ran all my standard Mini setup, except i went to red front springs.

Tires - Type A Rear, S Grip Front
Springs - Red all around (may try harder springs in the rear)
Shocks - All are the exact same length, spacers added to get the arms level. The M06 actually needs a little longer shock in the rear. Will be rebuilding a set of shocks for the 06 soon. To get a nice ride height, you will need to have the rear arms drop just a little past level. Had a hard time getting nice ride height and a little droop!
Diff - Gear Diff with a little AW, and hardly any diffing out on corner exit.

Even with bad understeer, i could manage easy 11.5's and one 11.3 at Carcar. For reference, last A race winner's fastest time on the same track, 11.7! IMHO the M06 potential comes from great rear grip, it gives the driver confidence. Something already built in with a FWD.

Sure is great to drive a RWD hard again!

I finally get my car to hook up and the track how I want it to but... on high speed corners the rear slides just a bit any suggestion are welcomed.

Can someone tell me if its compulsory to use the 35 amp ESC supplied with the Hobbywing EZRUN 13Turn 3000kv brushless motor for VORTEC based racing or the like here in Australia?

Would it matter if I used for example a Tekin ESC instead, as long as the motor remained the same?

Hi guys. Can I substitute Tamiya Red Spring Soft # 53630 with the Tamiya 53748 (1/10 Scale Glow Engine R/C Short Damper Spring soft) red color? I have tried to look for answers but can't find any sure answer. Thanks for any help.

Red is red, blue is blue, yellow is yellow....

Only difference is the height! The M chassis shocks come with a set of each colour in short length.

Partly true, but Tamiya made a couple different sets of red, yellow and blue springs I'm aware of. Also they were in the short and long lengths. Not to mention the color coded white springs which were equivalent to the "new" red, yellow and blue springs. Can get a little confusing.

John, it's because the ESC's are where the difference is nowadays. So it's vital that we control them. We didn't allow the ZTW system to be used (same HW motor but different ESC) because there was a difference of around 100rpm to the Hobbywing. That's why mini racing now is so good, no-one has any advantage.

And being a Tech car...it'll cost the usual twice as much as anything else...right Gaz?
