Thanks!

I assume the 08 is part 51429 http://www.tqrcracing.com/shop/produ...=0.6&p_stock=0

17.5: This one is more based on temp than anything, currently I am in the 3.7 range. (86x50 to be exact, keeps me right up with the fast guys.)

As far as bodies go, at the TCS in Cali, the popular body was obviously the NSX, But I talked to a few guys and they also like the Corolla Axio as well, this will be what I run for our TCS in Wa.

I currently run a gear diff in the rear and a spool up front, I love the predictability of the car with this setup. The rear diff currently has 3k oil, the car really rolls well through the corners.

I currently run the IFS, but will be trying the standard front end for the next race. I really feel like you should give the IFS a chance, mine handled great, and had no issues. The one thing I would suggest with the IFS is to buy the Alum. rocker arm set. That will take out all the slop, which is critical on IFS cars.

Hope this helps! I absolutely LOVE my 06 so far, running a TCS spec car against 600 dollar cars and competing is so much fun
Thanks!

I run a 2003 and 2005 NSX, as well as a Corolla Axio... I run all 3 cars with the front shocks in the regular position (non IFS)...

The 2007 NSX (Takata/Raybrig) need the front shocks in IFS though...

Which car has the most durable drivetrain out of the TA06, Ta05v.2 and TB03?

I am thinking of getting another car for Speed runs (60mph) and want the car that will mean less time replacing gears and more time driving. I already have a Tamiya TB03 and I want to try a belt drive if the drivetrain is more durable.

Can anyone please tell me the sizes of the bars in 54309 roll bar kit? I understand that they also fit the 417 - can anyone comment on this.

well, from the short time i owned a ta05, i wouldnt use it on anything other than a manicured track. the dirt plays havoc with the diffs n belts. its really smooth though.

Matt, as far as thickness goes, this is what I measured with my calipers:

Pink (soft): 1.1mm
Silver (Medium): 1.3mm
Gold (hard) 1.55mm

Hope this helps!

Anyone have a picture of a Novak Ballistic motor mounted in a TA06 and what they did to get it to fit. I saw someone recommend getting http://www.tqrcracing.com/shop/produ....asp?p_id=1817 but is 3mm enough to get this motor to fit? I can only seem to find them overseas. I am still waiting to get my TA06 I ordered and was really hoping to use this motor because I can change just the stators if I am going to run a different class and not need another whole motor. For example I am going to run GT2 (17.5 TCS) but after that is over I would like to use this as my 25.5 VTA car that is required to run a ballistic per rules.

Thanks for your help.

If the pic uploaded, (not comuter-savy) If you look closely at the upper bulkhead area, I basically shaved a few mil's away so the solder tabs can clear, so the motor can sit flush. I would rather lose a hair rigitity, than have the motor offset, thus negating the weight-down-the-center design. works great, and the TCS guys didn't complain about it in GT2. There simply isnt enough room otherwise. The motor in the pic is the Novak Ballistic 25.5 for VTA racing.

Thanks, did you need to alter the tabs on the motor? Make them go straight up vs the 90 deg bend?

Hey Travis, yeah you'll need to bend the tabs straight up. Be careful though, because the tabs don't have much meat on them, so only bend them as much as you need.

Anyone having issues finding spare parts? Im looking for the 2x8mm screws(diffs) and spare pulleys etc.

Its as if Tamiya is allowing the purchase of ball diffs but if you need a spare part you WILL pay a premium for it.
