Two rotors* in what, 5 years of availability? I like those odds.

*Three, I guess, if you consider those poor suckers that still run the bonded.

What I really need is a case to hold my LRP 13.5, Orion 13.5, and spare Novak 13.5.

Sell your lathes while there's still suckers out there willing to buy them.
LOL, I sold my DYNO and some of the other equipment...but as long as I still play with ONE Brushed motor for Local racing - I'll KEEP my lathe...

Selling off my TurboDyno45 paid for ALL 4 of my brushless systems, plus 3 of the extra motors I have. (I bought USED and got Great Prices)

MORE New Stuff - means guys will be selling off perfectly GOOD used stuff at Great Prices....just because they want something NEW to play with. Gotta LOVE a good USED market~

And by the way, there's already a guy in France offering custom brushless service. From what I understand, he tears the motors down, makes sure they're wound properly, don't have any internal shorts, and checks all the solder joints throughout the can. It's not much, but a little peace of mind about your motors before a big race would surely be worth it to some people.

Will you guys ever do something similar? It's hard to fathom that some dude in his mom's basement in the depths of France got a jump on the world's best motor tuners/builders.

dont worry novak, there are always stupid people who think they need everything.

if you cant afford it then dont buy it, you dont HAVE TO, but some people do and want to and CAN afford it.

NO ONE is putting a gun to your head to buy it, if you cant afford the $80 to buy the motor then its likey you cant afford the latest batteries that cost $80 every few months to compete at the highest level anyway.

if you really think you need the novak "light" then go sell your novak velocitie motor for $50 and spend another $30 to buy the light, now try selling a used brushed motor thats had hundreds of runs for $50

it's an LRP motor prepared by a French driver we calles P'ti Yo. He made some preparation on all kind of brushless motor. He checked everything inside and modify all he doesn't like.
Here's a picture of it: http://data4.blog.de/media/529/1853529_94dadd8f47_o.jpg.

I don't know what the big deal is. Like previously stated it is only for mod so just consider that as another type wind.

In addition, Novak has a BL motor replacement program. Send in any Novak motor and exchange it for any other RMF motor for about $45.

Are you faulting a company for trying to make money? Remember this is a hobby, you don't have to keep buying the latest equipment.
Exactly. I have recently taken this ideal to heart. I no longer feel the need to buy all the latest and best equipment if I dread draining my bank account on it and not seeing a major improvement in performance. I no longer buy what everybody else has or what they think is needed to be competitive.

Oh come on. If that's your concern why don't you start racing these:

Very economical and virtually maintenance free!

I read the title I was expecting some kind of open can design that was less heavy. I guess the "light" is for slower acceleration and braking? Im not sure the term "light' was the best choice. Just my $.02.

I think Novak posted that the light motor will indeed be lighter.

Personally, I think it's a great product. It's already hard enough to be smooth with their current lineup of motors in on-road - it's even worse in off-road. The previous option would be to motor down and loose a bunch of top end. Now we have the option of getting a smoother motor with the same top end.

To all the people who don't like motor on the month. Personally, I've spent a whole lot less on brushless than I did when I ran brushed. It's not even close.

Well, the motors ARE lighter... hence the name!

The standard motors are around 185 grams, the lightweight motors are around 165 grams.

I was thinking the same thing. From a marketing standpoint, it implies that the existing motors are "heavy." I feel slower already.
