Just talked to a member of the EXCOM, they understand the urgency to get the Carpet race location sorted out. Should be decided upon soon.

I will say this again.... This list is... in NO WAY.... in any order of grading...

Hobbyplex
Thunder
Gate.

I can tell you, for the Carpet Race, the top 3 from our committee were .. and in no paticular order.

The Gate
Thunder RC < Boylan
Hobbyplex

We will see how it goes. I would hate to see the race go to a track just becuase it is in the home state of the president.

Well its been what 8 years since Florida had a carpet race... Might be a good time to consider that notion, not to mention the organizer of that race is Mike Boylan and I think he knows a thing or 2 about running a WORLD CLASS event with HUNDREDS of racers. Seems like people are constantly complaining about the organization of the events they have attended... IMO that would not be an issue with MB.....

Does the ROAR ECCOM people understand that a lot of tracks and racers
are planning their 2008 race events now so the events won't run at the same time?

I really wish ROAR would have a forum SOMEWHERE so that it's members can be heard and the ROAR leadership can also be heard by its members. I hope ROAR is not relying these forums as a tool to hear from its members. Infact this forum there is no accountability for its members. I can make up 20-30 yahoo and google email account and mask my IP to become a member in here..

This isn't a knock on ROAR but how does a member get heard? How would I know if I had an idea/suggestion that other ROAR members also share?

EMails are nice but that is 1 voice that can not be heard by others.

OK, time to take my meds and go to my happy place....

Oh and 1 more thing... Sorry about the fires in Cal but guess what? 98% of the country managed to function normally.... I didn't realize that what happens in Cal effects ROAR that much.. Although I couldn't buy a SONY laptop because their repair center was shutdown because of the fires and no SONY laptops could be purchased until the repair center was back open...

C'mon' Nick.... Let's PARTY...!!!! (and save about 7 hours driving time)

Todd...

Northwest Airlines
Flight 717 / 153 1:10pm
Boston, MA (BOS) 7:42pm
Omaha, NE (OMA) 7hrs 32min - 1 Stop

Change planes in Minneapolis, MN (MSP) $280
I wish it was that easy, now factor in the fact that there will be at least 2 other guys in the car and all of our gear. For Shawn and I to travel to a large event we usually have to ship several boxes that are VERY heavy, that's usually another $200-$300. Then we also have to pay the airlines about $75 for each of 2 bags that are overweight for EACH leg of the trip.

Going to Omaha for just Shawn and I would be more like $1200-$1300, driving to the Gate would take 11 hours and maybe $100 in fuel. That's cheap!

Well, the RD is a gasser and lives in Austin, so maybe he just doesn't like Okies, indoors, or electrics.
