I run 30 fixed timing and 31 max timing and the motor dosn't get too hot. I use the switchpoint at 10000.

I believe any value over 30 for maxing disables it, I'd personally drop the timing back a bit and gear up instead

I am already 4.7 fdr.... do you think I should try to go less than 4.7? doing this, should the punch out of corners be effected?

hello this is just my opinion from what i have found through my testing. There is 2 ways to gear the car, one is with a low fdr (4.6 or so) and the other is with a high fdr (6.0 or so). Both of these may have similar speeds but acheive that differently, one through high rpms due to the motor being aloud to reach a higher rpm because of the higher fdr (6.0) or the other due to the increased rolout of the car on the lower fdr (4.6). I personally run on a large open outdoor track with 10.5 running 25 degree fixed timing and a 10k switching point, and i am geared at 6.5. This achieves very good bottom and top end speed. What i am trying to say is you should experiment and try a gearing in the other direction and see how it works for you.

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if the GM genius 95 can make 3.7v LIPO batteries?

It's for a 1/12 chassis, I have tested it just in the pit and the controller switch on but I don't know if the controller is OK on the track during 5 or 8 min.

Regards,
Adrien.

What engine?

Without booster/rx_battery will not work.

IMHO new V2 gm speedo is much better for 1s racing.

I use GM PROstock 10.5 motor with 12.5mm rotor. I have tested it without the booster/rx battery but the speedo switch on. My GM 95 have the v4.8 .

I have a GM 75 but I use this on my Xray T3'11 and I want to drive with my 1/12 chassis too but my touring car season is not finished...

Any one got any ideas on this?

Same speedo GM, same motor, same gearing and car, same profile, everything the same but i'm running motors 20-30C hotter. Any ideas why that would be?

Tried different motors to eliminate that but can't work out why i can't get anywhere near other peoples gearing or timing. My mate for example with the same kit is running 15 degress more timing and is coming of the track at about 85c. His car has more punch the hole race and feel like it could be pushed even harder. I'm hitting the overheat amp limiter set to 120c about 3 minutes in.

Is this down to driving style. Bad speedo or capacitors on their way out?

Have you tried a factory reset? That'd be first on my list, then run the car in mode 9. It's a known quantity (control) so that should tell you if the speedo is to blame or not.

If thats ok and you've already tried different motors then I would see if the caps are to blame. Is the speedo getting very hot as well?

Have tried a reset in the past as well as copied mates profiles and no difference. Speedo is running at 73c on 13.5t carpet without fan.

I know caps give a lot of punch to speedos but what is their main purpose?

Have you the same electronic installation? Your speedo is separated of the motor with the same distance in the two cars? When the motor is more separated that the speedo, his temperature decrease over 10°c in my car .

When you have finished your PC set-up, you can re-calibrate your mode to be sure your speedo can work good.
