MaxAmps Lipo Thread!!
I just bought my first set of Maxamps 6000 Lipo and LOVE IT!!! Several of our local guys are running them and love them as well...We need a thread for them!! It would be nice if we could have a MaxAmps person in here sometimes to help explain some changes coming. I noticed there is a size change from a 6000mah purchased a few months back to the one I just received. Width and Depth the same but thickness is smaller.Have fun boys and girls!!!!

I have a 6000. I love it. I however switched over to a JRXS and now it won't fit. It's too bad, I love the LiPo. I may buy the type R JRX next summer. It's supposed to be LiPo friendly. All in all I am impressed with the MaxAmps battery. I do wish that the wires came out of the top, rather than the side. I could then run it in my buggy. As they evolve I hope that I can again use them.

I have maxamps in both my T2(6000mah) and xx4(4400 saddle) and both are great. I agree on the wires though. Between the width and where the wires come out I had to do some serious mods on my T2 to make it fit. It was mainly just to wide and with the wires, I haad to cut my battery holders and shoe goo it to my battery strap to hold it in place.

Hey guys
You can get a Hyperion Lithium Balance Adapter from MaxAmps.com.
I got one when I ordered my 2100, 11.1 Lithium for my copter.
It's really cool. It hooks between your charger and you battery.
It balances as it charges. And it will do the balancing at the end if you want.
It balances from 2s to 6s. 10 amp max charge rate. Discharge mode autocut.
Charge, discharge, stand-alone balancer.
The number for it is LBA10, net6s+.
You can call MaxAmps and talk to Clint or Austin.
They can give you the scoop on it.

I have been running some 8000 off road for over a year. They are not ever any more out of balance then when I got them. It takes about 1 min for my balancer to level them out. Every pack I have tried from anyone takes about this long. We are talking about a very small voltage difference. I have no complaints on his batteries.

I just got a 8000 in a trade and bought a 3000 pack from them for a Rock Crawler project. I wanted to see if anyone knew if my Much More Cell master would charge these okay and how I needed to do it. I am totally new to Lipo and have the Kaboom fear in me!!

I wouldn't worry any more about the kaboom with a lipo as I would a NIMH. However do read up on lipos and charge correctly. Also don't run them too low and you'll love it. MaxAmps site has some info on lipos that you could read or check some of the other lipo threads here for more info.

i suggest you get another lipo compatible charger because the current much more charges at max 1 amp for lipo. it will take a very long time to fully charge your 8000

I have been running Lipo's for over a year. The Maxamps are great. I got a tour of the maxamps place, and them guys are way cool. Anyway, they tried blowing up a 6000 w/ and ice charger, and no mater what they did, couldn't get anything bad. They finally plugged it into a real car charger, and let it go for a long while. Then BOOM. I have seen many nimh packs go, but I am yet to ever see a lipo pack go. And I would also say that 1/2 the guys at my local track are using lipo's now. If some of those guys havn't blown one up, you really dont need to worrie about it.
Lipo
Charge rate. 1000mah = 1amp charge
6000mah = 6amp charge

Okay! thanks guys. I read a little and found that the Much More is no good for Lipo charging. If I get a Ice, Orion, or other Lipo charger do I need to get a balancer?
Thanks and the guys from Maxamps sent me a thank you card for my order. That is going way beyond typical customer service!
