I would definitely give a top quality lipo a try if at all possible for you. I'll put my Core5000 lipos up against anyone's top nimh I've had some kickazz packs and during the middle and end of a run, they don't TOUCH the Core's.

JayBee, please don't taunt me. Western Canada is strongly anti-lipo, despite my efforts.

Since I began this thread months ago, all my experience proves that the NiMH technology we use is crap. Junk. Not worth $1/cell. I dream of lipos, which are a more mature, reliable, and predictable technology.

elites all the way. I've been running them for about 2 years now, I start with elites 3600 and I'm currently using Elites 4300. I haven't had a chance to run elites 4500 yet but they also now have the new elites 4000 (dirt Cheap). Now I used my Ib as practice packs.

Check this website my name is "KIM" look at my lap times using this batteries. And I'm the only one running brushless using 5 cells with elites 4300, All of the guys are running brushed/6 cells.

Most of they guys at my track used EP 4200

Check 19T expert class and 19T sportsman which I used 13.5 (novak) against 19T brushed motor

Down side on this batteries is not roar legal, Elites batteries have very minimal self discharge, I abused this batteries I run it at least 3X every race day. It doesn't need care like we do with IB's. I equalized this packs once a month, I just run them and charge them at the track. I noticed that everytime I discharge/equalized this batteries before charge they run flat no kidding they run strong if you just charge them.

Not really sure why , but from day one you have bashed the EP batteries and ever since they have come on the scene here in the united states they have been amazing as far as performance and durability. And now it is the cell that everyone is currently using except for SMC.

Not saying there is anything wrong with the IB but you have only had bad things to say about the very sucessful EP batteries and you just look foolish when you continue to do it.

Maybe someone can help me. I picked a dozen Elite 4500 loose cells to test. The first cycle these cells came up to just over 5000mah's, and had massive punch! Now, I can't get them over 4000mah's? I have been treating them the same way as my IB's. A .90V cutoff, and using a 5mv threshold peak. I do notice when the cells peak, they are only around 87F. Maybe I need to increase the threshold? When disacharging one of the packs I had one cell at 0V so I replaced it in hopes it was the culprit, but the pack would still only cycle up to around 4000mah's. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I am using them in my 4wd, and really don't want to go to a lipo saddle pack.

any new thoughts on the new Elite 4500s cells? I'm running a couple of 4000 packs and for the price they are pretty good.
