In big meetings i (and also others) replace brushes after each run, so yes, i think thats normal to replace brushes every three meetings.
Well, actually three meetings sounds quite alot for one set of brushes, but of course that depends from spring / brush / motor / timming combination used.
The faster you want your motor to go, the more often you have to service it.
Hope this helps,
Janis

Its a Corally 17x 2 black series, springs are standard.
I get the impression that I cant adjust the timing on the motor.?
So what brushes are reccomended for performance?

I sometimes have trouble getting 3 heats out of a set of ASC 729 quasar brushes but they are fast. ASC 737x brushes are down a little on power but wear well. With the 17 turn you are probably not looking for a lot of power so I would try the 737x or Peak/Orion enduro brushes for better motor and brush life.
