Hobby shop was out of 1/4 x 3/8 bearings so I'll have to wait. Diffs still feel real good now after I flipped the rings.

New question. I loved how silent the RDX was, but my PHi has an annoying clicking sound in the drivetrain. It spins very free and smooth, but clicks at me, as if taunting me in some weird sadistic way. Has anyone had the same issue and found the problem? Not really a big problem, just annoying.

Yes, but I figure I got bigger things to worry about....like driving.

In all seriousness, I too have the described "click", but I have not been able to find the source.

I believe it's the pin in the layshaft moving back and forth as the layshaft turns

I ground the set screw for the pinion down to the body of the pinion and the noise went away, along with the slow wearing down of the front belt.

I would love to blame the pinion, but it does it even without the pinion installed.

Some noise will come from the pinion. I dont know what else the noise comes from.

Mine made the same clicking sound. I replaced the spur gear and took apart everthing on the main shaft and put everthing back togather and put a new spur gear on and the clicking sound went away. I'm not really sure where the clicking was coming from but its gone now.

Would that be because the lay shaft is not square in the chassis? Maybe a bit tweaked after both screws are tightened.

i machined grooved the center layshaft so i could put e clips on both sides of the layshaft with out having to use the oring spacers and now there is just a tick of play and no more side to side slop on the layshaft problem fixed no more noise
