Best servo
I will be new to the on-road scene with a Team Xray T2' 007 US Edition. I am looking for a new servo and I can speak from off-road experience the futaba S9404 is king of the electric trucks but it is very high torque. From my thoughts it seems like the servo needs to be faster and doesn't need to supply the torque of the off-road cars and trucks. what is everyone using?

I would still go with a good high speed/torque servo in a onroad car. Something with at least 120-130 oz torque. The reason being with any AWD vehicle the power to the front wheels will try to force the wheels straight. On a RC car this force will be applied to the servo so a good torque servo will insure you have consistant front steering power at all times.
My first onroad car used the Futaba S9550 servo which has 80oz torque. I noticed a HUGE difference in steering when moving to a 120oz servo. Also the 9550 speed is not that great, a servo in the .06-.08 will be noticeable in onroad.
My personal favorites are Airtronics and KO Propo for servos. I have the KO PDS-2363 in my T2 right now and love it.

I have used the Futaba 9550 for the last three years with great results and zero breakdowns. I have also used the standard sized Ko Propo servos, again with great results and zero breakdowns. If I was shopping for a new servo I would definitly look at the new low profile Ko Propo servo. I only race 1/10 TC's and the weight and space saving of the lowprofile servos is a real plus. Good luck.
