How are we turning the spur? If I get a good pull on the belt it will spin maybe one rotation but turning the spur itself it goes maybe a 1/4 turn. Is that about right? This is my first belt car I have built. All my others were bought used/assembled. Everything was smooth as butter before the belts went on.

MikeXray-the spur should do at least one revolution....check the drive train and wheels for binding on the arms or shock ends. You can also take one seal out of the bearings and make sure they are towards the inside of the car. I run my car outdoors and still run the same set of bearings.

Hope it helps..

LOL!! Thats what I like to hear!! Smooth as Butter!!!

The ability to spin the drivetrain via the spur or the belts has no bearing on how it will perform once the belts are broken in (couple of runs), and once you have some rotating mass to allow the drivetrain to continue spinning(Tires)

I can assure you that the Xray's drivetrain is one of the smoothest and free spinning you will find.

As for whether or not YOUR car is ok... It sounds fine... Don't guide yourself by the ability to turn the spur....

Thanks. That was pretty much what I was thinking but since the question came up I thought I'd ask. Sweet car to build.

Jack,

Any pictures?

I can end up in Reno occasionally.

www.highperformancehobby.com

Track is like billiard table. I ran my 1/12 at 3.5mm, no traction compound marks on the chassis. The front of the body was sitting at 2mm and it was barely tapping the track at the end of the straight. It's a little tight for TC with the layout right now but it's dialed for 1/12th.

It's not too tight, it's a little tight. You just gotta put your driving shoes on.

Thats about what mine does, it feels like the spur doesn't have enough mass to keep the spur going. Butters post though seems to be that its ok, I was just curious.

Does anyone have any idea why the aluminum shock bodies don't show as compatible with the T2/007 on the parts cross reference sheet on xray's site? ...they appear to be same size as teh plastic ones?

They are longer than the T2 shock bodies.
