yes-I am in agreement with you and Tito 100%. You have to adapt and it is clear who adapted the best and who didnt because there were plenty of A-B Main guys who drove tight lines and stayed clean for 5 or 8 who werent even close to making the show!!
So I wont ever argue the "same for all" nor will I argue that "traction was too low to race". It is clear that there was ENOUGH traction to qualify on and race on come Friday.
I am just combating the notion that we should drop the subject because no one who is talking about the traction has anything bad ot say about the race at all. Though it is getting a bit stale-eh? I to think the HVAC had most t do with it with many other smaller contributing factors.

I have no one to blame but myself. I don't need everyone else telling me I suck and need to drive better and learn to wrench. I can critique myself just fine.
I beat cuffs and smyka at previous races in the last year so I'm not a non-driving idiot.
Everyone is so quick to jump on people before they even hear them out.
All I wanted to know was if Scotty/Boomer would consider paragon traction action as an alternative.
If I'm not mistaken Scotty asked everyone to give him feedback good or bad.

I'm firmly in the camp of "track conditions are the same for everybody". Whatever they are, they are. If carpet conditions were like last year's Cleveland race then there was PLENTY of traction for racing, it just takes a different set-up than driving on glue. I race on the Cleveland carpet 3 weeks later and I thought it was great.
But you didn't want to hear that...

I noticed those streaks in the carpet on the straight away when I first looked at the track on Wed before anyone went out. It looked to me like glue from underneath the carpet but maybe it was just discoloration from the manufacturing of the carpet before it was even put down.

I am thinking something more along the lines of a device they may have used to press the carpet into the glue while layin it out. Said device had dirt on it and left marks. Looks to random for glue basing on how I saw what the glue pattern looked like last year when they pulled it up. I am just guessin here.

Hey Scotty and Boomer
Had a blast, still the best race on the planet by far. cant wait till next year
as far as the track goes.. it was the same all week and the same all week
for everyone much more even can it get, I put on the traction compound an
hour before the race then again on my way to tech and wiped it off after tech while waiting to run. never had a problem with traction at all.
see you guys at the classic.

I wasn't there to fill out a suggestion card, But I attended the first one, (where traction rolling was my problem, I couldn't imagine not having traction on carpet, but its racing and its challenging.
I have a suggestion for the format, (so people can enjoy Vegas more)
Either start a day earlier which may be impossible
run 3 days of qualifiers instead of 2,
cut out a practice round
1/12 only run 5 min practice not 8(maybe they are I dont ramember)
Wed (Long day) 2 rounds practice 2 rounds of 50 heats 100 heats total
Thurs (long day)1 round of practice, round 1 of qual., 100 heats total
Fri. round 2 of qual, 1/2 of round 3 75 heats total
Sat finish round 3 run round 4 of qual 75 heats total
Sun. main events same as always

Next year we will be having fewer entries so that racing will be done earlier so that people can fully enjoy Vegas and everything it has to offer.
If you are planning to attend next year, make sure you sign up early and get the entry sent in as quickly as possible. We sold out in 8 days this year, I do not think it will last that long next year. We will not be doing a lottery. Scotty has never done a lottery and does not believe in it.

- It had a concrete floor -VS- thick carpet (insulation) from last year.
- The circulation of air was incredible at this place. Standing in the doors in the hall was like standing in a mini wind tunnel.
- There was more room in the pits compared to last year (though not enough for some), so that meant that heat from the racers pit area was a non factor in the over all room temperature.

To Scotty, Boomer, Doug, and everyone else involved behind the scenes that I don't know, or haven't met, thank you. This was a great event, and I look forward to next year. I am sure that with a little more track time I could have done better. This being my first major event, especially of this magnitude, I had a blast.
I feel that this is the correct direction to take the hobby. The exposure to the public in this country from a major event couldn't be much better. All the spectators that were there were either from the casino, or attending the shows in the two adjoining rooms. They were all people that had some amount of 'disposable income', and were of an age level that would be interested in racing. I realize that this event was not stratigically planned around those other events, but it seems to have worked out well.
Something that could be thought of for the future, maybe not next year... The TV under the canopy was great, especially for when the crowd got really packed in around the track. People were watching it on the TV there that would have otherwise not gotten to see the action on the track. Little kids and people in wheelchairs and able-bodied people alike. The suggestion is this, a projection screen on the wall behind the drivers, to the side of the massive banner, showing the feed going out to the internet. - like I said, maybe a thought for the future...
