I've just let mine float, no problems. The battery spacer that goes behind the battery should keep it in place and the center shock mount keeps it from flying up. If you run the battery in the rearward position then use a countersunk screw with a flush screw washer and then shim it out until the battery doesn't slide forward.

I tape mine. Too much play just relying on the shock mount IMO.

I saw an extended shock mount online that acts as a retainer as well, but couldn't find a source?

Anyone know if anybody has any of the kits in stock? I checked Roche USA / Side Pence Racing and they are on back order.

These guys, but it's literally a slow boat from China. They're slow to ship (a week) and then probably a month to get it. I orderd some parts a month ago and am still waiting.

RC Jaz - Hong Kong

These guys are great but they're in the UK. Shipping is expensive but you get it in about 6 days.

I was hoping for something state side. Guess I’ll have to find a used one or wait for them to come off back order.

I'm just about done building my EVO2, I have a question. I just finished building/installing the rear shock, after i attached it, the rear pod doesn't lay flat. Can someone help me to figure out what i have done wrong. I have taken the shock apart several times and check the kit settings, but I still can't get the rear pod to lay flat with the rear shock attached. Thanks in advance!

There are Knurles on both ends of the shock for adjusting the length. You can adjust from either end or both if more adjustment is needed.

I've done that, it reduced the load on the poo, but as you can see from the photo, I still have quite a bit. Its almost like the shock is to long.

Have you tried it with the wheels on and electronics installed? The rear pod should have a bit of droop. Should settle flat w/the weight of the car.

Initially I was wondering the same thing. I think it may be a combination of that and not getting the shock shaft far enough into the perch. I attached everything without the spring and it looks way better. The spring is pretty stiff. Any tips on making sure that the shaft is completed imbedded in the perch? That didn't sound right :-) but you get the point.

I loosen the grub screw, insert the shock shaft and then slowly compress the shock as I tighten the grub screw to make sure the shock shaft is inserted into the bottom perch all the way.

I can't tell from your pictures, but from your description it sounds like your pod is tilting down when looking at the car from the side with the car right side up?

I tried your method and that helps. Yes you are correct, when the car is right side up, the pod is tilting down. I'll see if this improves after I install the battery, electronics and tires. Thanks.
