Are you just making new holes to mount the servo and mount? What kind of bit are you using to countersink the chassis?
Servo Mod
remove your sevo and akerman assembly
shave off the existing servo link mount
(Where your steering link used to snap on)
Carefully drill a fifth hole in the akerman using an 1/8" drill bit, centered left to right
(it should be drilled behind the existing holes, Besure it will clear both tie rods when steering extreme left and right)
Place your servo so that the horn is furthest from the Bulkhead(closest to the tire)
Carefully mark the center of each hole of each servo mounts (mounts should be fasten tightly to servo)
Drill out marks with an 1/8 inch drill bit (drill slowly as not to flake the fibre when penatrating bottom of chassis)
With a counter sink bit (lowes,home depot) counter sink bottom of chassis
Install akerman and servo adjust linkage as needed

At the rate in which everyone is moving to the Exotek chassis and modifying/buying new bulkheads perhaps Associated should investigate making a TC5R-LS (lipo spec).
Changes could be:
-Narrow rear bulkheads
-New chassis (narrower, modified for new bulkheads, lipo weights included, optional holes for the Keven servo mod)
-New upper deck for the narrow bulkheads
-Revised one-way in which the pulley could easily be mounted for a flipped belt configuration
-Revised steering to optionally allow for Keven servo mod
-Anything else?
Other changes could include:
-More flexible belts??
Seems like it could even be offered as an upgrade kit.

I'd buy a LS (if resonally priced) instead of having to do it all yourself. I'll be glad when the chassis are designed w/ lipo's, heavier brushless motors and mass centralization in mind from the start of design... I heard some of the other manufactors have this in the works but duno for sure... mass centeralization has proven itself in many other forms of racing for years now. RC just needs to ketchup.

Thanks! Very interesting...definitely centralized! the speedo location could be an issue depending on what you got and if you need a fan... gotta be a cake job to balance it!

Metric or imperial ?
Hi. Just wondering. Does the TC5R use metric or imperial screws ? I'm in a country in which i can't get anything imperial so that can make the difference in my decision to get one or not.

the tc5 is the first associated car ever to be metric so you will b just fine

Ignore my last post. Just skimmed over the manual for the TC5R and theres only one mention of a 0.50" screw driver and i can't find where its used.

I believe its used for the battery strap screws. I stopped using the battery strap for multiple reasons, but that is one.
Instead of a whole new car, I'd like to see associated to come out individual upgrade parts.
But until, I will mod away. I'm going to give the servo mod a shot.

I did a search and came up empty. Trying to decide which to one to go with, tc5r or f. I plan on racing on indoor concrete and carpet.
