Gear it like you would a 12x1 Deznutz, cause that's basically what it is. If you were to unwind an arm and measure the wire, that's just about how much is on there. With the stack being shortened 4mm and the webbing of the poles 2mm thinner, the thing is ballistic for a 19T.

so I guess 100/36 with 57mm foams was bad then huh?

what gets me was that I was getting walked on by my friend who has the same motor I just have more RPM then he does... any ideas?

Seriously gearing it like that? I was thinking about picking one up tomorrow for this weekend but its kinda hard to experiment before heats due to limited practice and no timinig during practice. So like the co27 that starts 4 or 5 teeth higher than the monster....start this one .......how many teeth from a C2 you guys think?

Our layout right now has 2 chicanes, 2 180s, and a HUGE sweeper, almost like one long straight since it uses the half the backstretch, 2 corners and half the front stretch of an oval with a 315' run line.

You can see the layout here, scroll down to the "facelift" pictures...

HobbyWorld

Gearing I was running 6.09 with a C2 and it was smoking coming off but I wasnt the fastest top end, but i didnt have any bigger pinions at the time.

The picture at the top of the first page is not the layout now. Under facelift the back stretch has the gate from the onroad to the oval closed, when we run that short chute is opened up onto the back straight

Thank's for getting my pal Eric Hill hooked on 12th, I've been slowly trying but I guess you sealed it. What gearing ratio with this motor worked for you?

C2

RPM Torque Watt EF Amps

22169 11.0 182 77 33.3
21549 12.0 194 76 35.9
21018 13.0 209 75 38.7

CP Money 19 Turn

21670 11.0 178 78 32.4
20970 12.0 187 75 35.1
20459 13.0 199 74 38.1

KD-19 Turn

28429 8.0 170 75 32.3
27653 9.0 185 74 35.3
26637 10.0 200 75 37.9

I deleted the high and/or low numbers and just grouped the 3 motors by relative AMP draw. Looking at this data, I would conclude that the KD-19 has less TORQUE, similar Watts & Efficiency. The C2 still seems to create MORE Power/Watts in a equal AMP draw test, but the KD-19 does have a TON more RPM.

Ran a Komodo this weekend and all I can say is that I am a Trinity believer again!!! This motor was INSANE!!! Rolled it out in an RDX on the carpet with foams at 29.5 mm and it was very fast. Came off the track at 120 degrees...I didn't get enough time to really play with the gearing but it ran for 8 minutes on a 3800 unmatched practice pack and was noticabley faster than my Checkpoint Money motor. When I finally hit the gearing right the motor will be EXTREMELY FAST. This is going to be the motor to run for the carpet season. Great job to the guys and girls at Trinity for making the Komodo the motor that it is.

I tried the komado in my t2 last week, this motor is fast but it came of smoking hot, i geared it the same as my c2 around 30 mm roll out, i think you have to gear the komado a few teath lower than the c2, what do you guys think?

Yes..Most are gearing the KD 2 teeth less than C2 for starting point..

yup Thats what everyone is saying on here. About two teeth. if yu read the dyno sheets posted by EA on page one-it has more rpm then the other 19t's. The dyno sheets are in torque steps so you can read what a C2's rpm is and what the KD's is and adjust accordingly.

I rolled out my C2 last race at 1.195" (30.3mm) and it ate the brushes every run. Car was still fast at end of run-but the comm was red and + brush was rainbowed. If the KD is faster at two less teeth and has stock motor brush wear-BRING IT ON!!!

At CEFX, I usually rollout a C2 at 1.18", a CP at 1.20", a Integy at 1.21", Blue atlas at 1.23" and the KD at 1.0"-1.02"

Less torque and more RPM means gear it lower.

It won't seem like it's overgeared at 1.10-1.15, but it never hits top rpm and keeps pulling through the sweeper. It still feels as it has punch, and then you gear down and hear the whine down the straight and it sounds like a 10-12 turn.

Mine hits 165-180 degrees on a semi-technical 80x40 carpet track.

Good luck,

Tim
