Default Older Stampede Cleanup

I picked up an old Stampede for $20. The motor was shot, but the servo and speed control were still good.

I have a 6yo daughter that is enjoying running it around. The previous owner had put a decent ESC on it and I dropped a new $16 motor in it.

I'm using a GTX3 for the transmitter and I have her throttle limited to 3% and the brake set to hard. It keeps her from getting into too much trouble but still enough oomph to hop over curbs.

She had me paint the body pink and she named it twinkles.

I have to hit some magical 'post count' before I'm allowed to post pictures.

I'd post a link to my website, but apparently the 'post count' affects URL links too. Probably to keep spammers away.

My 4 yo also runs a Stampede. His has a Tamiya Dirt Tuned 27T motor but is otherwise stock. Great beginner vehicle.

I put one of the Electrify S600's in the daughter's truck. It has a little less top end but good torque for pulling through the grass.

I tried to balance the tires over the weekend and found out when I glued one of the wheels up that the bead wasn't fully set. That tire is slightly out of round, so I guess there's no balancing it at this point :/

Finally enough posts to post pictures:

I 3d printed a plate to mount the ESC to. I need to modify it to find a way to hold the switch on as that little bugger keeps coming unstuck. This truck is the older body style that had the old mechanical speed control.

All painted up with some new tires. I should have backed the paint with white or black, but this was my first RC car body and I didn't know better. I don't feel like masking off the outside to paint the inside.

Heck of a good find for $20! Ebay, Craigslist, yard sale?
