thanks, do you have a pic of how the sway bars are attached to the arms? looking in the manual it doesn't seem the arms have any additional holes or mounting stubs?

TLR334039 and TLR334040. The front arms have a molded in ball, and there is a hole on the rear arms for the bar to mount to.
mourinho likes this.

final question on this issue, will we need TLR2062 Team Losi Racing Aluminum Front Camber Block to run the front bar? per JRMitch setup

The sway bar kit included the molded front camber block with the mounts on it.

Hey Frank,

Will we still need to mod the front end for HRC or has this been addressed with the 4.0?

Thanks

I believe the kit comes with both lrc and hrc front pivots.

Default Weight distribution

Is there any info on the weight distribution and/or total weight of the car? Seems quite nice.

Surface is grass in the UK of that matters.
Thanks.

Guess I would also need to raise the diff to get correct driveshaf angle. Looks like 20mm might be at the top of the carpet setup and bottom of the dirt set up.

You need to look at what is affecting your ride height.

At Norfolk Buggy Club in the UK we have both a grass track and a dirt track.

I find that ride height is affected by the tire profile; as the dirt tires like JConcepts flip outs have a higher profile than the Schumacher mini spikes.

On the dirt track I'll run around 22mm ride height and on grass around 19/20mm, the difference in ride height though is down to the tire profile and not how much I have wound the shock collar down.

For reference I use the LRC blocks on grass and dirt.

I can understand using the +3mm hubs, raising the diff and doing the spindle adjustment if running the HRC blocks, as they effectively lower the ride height by raising where everything pivots from on the chassis.

Not sure if that helps, or confuses, but that is my understanding, which may or may not be correct.

Depends on configuration. I think you'll be 1530-1550 out of the box. Weight distribution should be 58-64% rear weight bias depending on configuration, electronics, battery, brass, etc.

Frank, if I was gonna run standup, what are the advantages of the 4.0 vs the 3.0 standup? Assuming I have the hubs and new spindles? Also how does the new chasis compare weight wise to the spec racer. And will any of thr new laydown stuff fit on the spec racer chasis?
Thanks

I've read that the 3.0 rear end will essentially drop into the 4.0, and I see a lot of shared components from the front of the Spec Racer 3.0.

Seems like you buy a 4.0 chassis and you are in the ballpark, minus some other front parts? I'd like to convert my 3.0 if feasible.

The biggest difference with the 4.0 over the 3.0 in stand up would be the stiffezel parts. In all honesty, I haven't found a track in the last year where I would prefer stand up... I think that once you get confortable with a laydown car, you're just going to be faster.

So other than the difference in hole location for the waterfall brace, could i fit the whole 4.0 rear end on a 3.0 chassis? Or are there too many changes? Reason being that i have a carbon chassis 3.0 thwt i have built up and want to continue using and im not afraid of drilling and countersinking some new holes.

I think the biggest thing would be running the stiffezel tower. That is listed as 3.0/4.0 part so it should be a direct fit. I'd just keep the 3.0 rear end and simply swap the shock tower.
