Ordered a set of the Kyosho orange springs. We'll see how they turn out.

Our local track is horrible on chassis protectors, so I made a front skid plate from hobby store plastic. Molded it with a heat gun. Came out decent I think.

I already have a DE rear skid plate.

I like it. I use a thin aluminum plate on the front and it will likely be worn out in a few months. 3 years on it and served me well on the 2.0 truck.

The rear of chassis is the high wear part. A pack of three Dee Racing rear skid plates last me two years so that works for me.

The rear spring length is roughly 56.4 millimeters. That is a Losi rear Orange. The kit spring is red and should be about the same length

Default SCTE 3.0 Rear Diff Soft Gear Box Material

A few months ago I was noticing many parts on my 3.0 had softer plastic than normal. I was not able to make time to do a proper review about the Rear gearbox until now.

If you want to know the details about this please read here in post #51 on page 4.

Just purchased a new SCTE 3.0 and getting ready to build. Any body got a good set-up for a indoor clay track small to medium in size with high traction.

Box setup is a good starting point for that type of track. There are not many setup sheets out there. Truck just needs tweaking to your liking, maybe some springs. Drive it first then decide what it needs. Might surprise you how well it drives with box setup.

You can run what ever spring on which ever side of any RC shock you want. the difference is generally frequency and progressiveness. Seems from my experience or understanding, the shorter a spring is assuming you're keeping the same rate springs, the more progressive the action becomes. A longer spring will yield less progression and have a more linear feel. This is a good thing for the rear, because you don't really want to much bounce back in favor of having it settle in more. The front can benefit from more progressiveness however, because your going to be loading that spring up more on touchdowns off of jumps. There are other factors such as directional inertia to consider as well, but we could be here all day talking theory and arguing who is right about what!

I did a post about a page or so back with the Kyosho part numbers. I searched the thread to find them.

Need some setup assistance. Rear end is super loose. Could barely control it at times. Front just really grabs. Thanks in advance

-Big outdoor track/little bumpy/dusty
-Stock setup mostly
-M3 Holeshots (most common tire there/fast guys run them)
-7/10/5 diff oil
-Light Blue front springs
-Orange Rear springs
-Front shock oil 40
-Rear shock oil 37.5
-negative 2 camber
-center dots in front
-1 degree down on C block (wanted less antisquat)
-half degree out on D block
-shaved off a little of the rear arms causing binding mentioned in this thread (arms are free)
-4300 HW motor/15 pinion/SCT pro

Softer springs in rear?
lower diff oil?
higher shock oil in front?
better throttle control on my part?
not sure what else i could change

I am having the same issue - super loose rear end. I would love to see what the answer(s) are. My setup is a little different. I went lighter on the rear oil (40/35 to 35/30) and it got a little better. Didn't have time to try lighter, plus it was only 50F outside (Ohio) so I imagine that affects the oil a little....

Are you running the battery in the front or rear?

I'd go to thinner rear oil, probably 32.5wt. I'd also go much thinner on diff oils... I run 5/5/3 on looser tracks, and going up like you did would just make it harder to driver IMO, especially in the center.
