Shock building, alternative method.

Fill the oil up to the first thread.
Extend the shock shaft so the eyelet bottomed out on the shock bottom.
Place the piston into the shock body but let gravity pull it down into the body.
Once the shock bottom reaches the shock body help align it into the body so that the treads line up.
Turn the shock bottom so that it starts to thread into the body.
Wait for 1 second to give the excess oil time to escape.
Continue to turn, wait, turn, wait process until the shock bottom is tight.
Pump the shock shaft a few times and then bottom out the eyelet to the bottom of the shock and release.
Hopefully you should not have any rebound or maybe just a little bit.
If you have more than you like, loosen the shock bottom, push the shock shaft down, wait for a little bit and then re-tighten the shock bottom.

I have to say I was pretty impressed with the buggy for the first time out with it! The steering was a bit aggressive for my taste but was easy to remedy. It jumps quite nicely and very flat! The shocks are the usual Kyosho perfection. Now if the driver could only have pulled his head outta his... Well ya know...

Does anyone know if the rr and rd mount from the zx5 will mount to the race chassis. I have a db2 that I wore out the rear holes that hold the rear rear block on so I need a new chassis and of coarse rudebits no longer offers the chassis

Not sure but can try to check tonight. If you're interested, I have a brand new RZ6 chassis and sideguards. PM if you are.

Eper, I checked last night with the plastic ZX5 rear suspension mounts and they fit the RZ6 chassis. The aluminum ones will fit as well because the zx5/6 are the same.

Thank you dmcmcguire.
Has anyone had issues with shearing the slipper layshaft right were the set screw holds the drive cup on I've sheared 2 of them. I'm running a 6.5. I also noticed my slipper was very aggressive so I readjusted that hopefully that's my cause of the problem. I'm running out of spare parts lol

I can't find that number even on the exploded view, LA363 B is a bit easier to locate
