Default Loctite

Working on building my kit now. I know to use Blue Loctite for screws that are metal to metal. Use that instead of the included TRL Thread Locker or is the TRL one for all other screws besides metal to metal?

Thread locker , TRL or otherwise is for metal to metal . You shouldn't need anything on the screws running into the plastics unless you strip the plastics. Go slow the first time you run the screws into plastic , don't use a power driver . No need to over tighten , snug is your friend.

You only use the threadlocker for metal to metal. Plastic threads don't need it

The TLR threadlocker is intended for metal to metal use. It's good stuff too.

Default Optional 2nd Diff Washer

Next question. I swore I read it somewhere but I can't find it. What's the purpose of the optional 2nd washer inside the diff?

Nevermind. Figured it out. The "washer" is actually an oring. Thats what I previously read that it confused someone else. Not cool. Lol.

I just purchased TLR341004 Clamping Servo Saver Nut after having 2 servo saver nuts loosen even with blue threadlock. Are we supposed to use another spring because I can't get the kit one even close to compressed enough. Do not want to damage anything. It feels like it needs a spring about half the size of the kit one.

With the new clamp nut, you use the same spring but you want to make sure you install the nut flush with the chassis.

I thought it was all the way down and go back 5 1/2 turns?

With the kit nut yes, the updated version is bigger.

For clarification, flush to the chassis using the newer nut TLR341004. If using the original blue nut that came with the kit, follow the directions of tightening all the way down and backing off 5 1/2 turns.

Both instructions are for base installation, you can tune steering characteristics depending on how tight you make the collar.

What does tightening and loosening do?
