Welcome to the EB48.3 Wiki

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

Springs:
Low Grip Track:
TKR8772 – Yellow Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8762 – Grey Low Frequency Front Springs

Low to Medium Grip Track:
TKR8773 – Orange Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8763 – Black Low Frequency Front Springs

Medium to High Grip Track:
TKR8774 - Red Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8764 - Pink Low Frequency Front Springs

TKR5199B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, EB/NB/ET/NT48/48.3) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Able to be on power earlier on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6017T (front)
-TKR6061T (rear)

This car is very durable. Here are the spare parts that I recommend you keep on hand:
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR6061T – Rear Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating and TKR6017T – Front Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating
TKR5286 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5184 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5194 – Spindle Carriers
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Page 3 Step K-3
Put the screw in upside down so that the head of the screw is in the hex spot that's molded into the spindle. This will aid in clearance in full droop / full steering.

Page 12 Step I-2
Use no less than 4 shims on the steering spindle to limit steering throw. I actually just use one 2mm ball stud washer from my 10th scale stuff since each shim is .5mm.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here.

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

Looking forward to picking up one of these buggies sometime next week. I'm at page 70 so far through the thread and learning lots already.

what position are you guys running the battery in?it seems there is about 10-15 mm that the battery can be used in either direction.im struggling to get a planted feel with this buggy so far.ive tried the box setup and joes snats..it never feels like it has really good grip.ive tried several tires and only get marginal improvement.

I run my battery all the way back and it felt alittle different but nothing eye opening.

Default tini coated shock shafts

Are the tini. Coated shock shafts stronger then the none coated ones? Is it the same steel shaft with a coating?

I'm not sure that they are tons stronger, but when coupled with the delrin inserts, they are considerably smoother.

I will tell you that it's a good idea to keep a spare set of shock shafts on hand. I've bent 1 front shaft between my EB and NB this summer and it was on a horrific crash.

While this may be a bit stiff in spring/oil for your track if it is rough, give this a shot if you've been working with the other pro setups and just can't get a handle on rear traction. I've often had people tell me it is the easiest to drive buggy they've ever tried. Obviously use appropriate tires for your track. I ran this setup mostly on medium traction.

Finally got the buggy built and on the track this weekend. I used the wicked weekend nb setup and was very impressed with the car, it was extremely stable through every section of the track. I changed to a JC hybrid wing which seemed to give it good rotation in tight turns. The only thing the car seemed to lack was forward bite. I will be looking at wheelbase and diff adjustments next time out

Default Turn on power?

Got my car to turn nice in off power tight turns, but pushes bad on wide turn. Anyone have any suggestions how I can get it around wide turns without compromising it's tight turns and jump ability?

We really can't give suggestions without knowing the entire setup, track surface, tires, etc. Best thing I can tell you is show us a quick vid of the track and link your setup. Then we can offer advice.

OR just put Joe's Southern Nats setup on your car with some Blue Reflexs or Blue Triple Dees on your car and be dialed

Maybe it's just mine and my buddy's 43 year old, slow-arse reflexes, but we both found Joe's setup very twitchy, and difficult to drive consistently.

We went back to the box set up, and did a little tweaking from there, and it's much better for us "old guys".

Haha...can't be. I'm 42 and I love his setup...lol. I do have a ton on expo on my steering (M12 - 60%), but I'm also running a protek 150t servo.

Seriously, yeah posting your current setup sheet will probably be the best way to get help.

I started with Joes Southern Nats and made a few changes.
Front arm shock mount is A.
2mm rear wheel offset.
Front shock 32.5 AE
Rear shock 37.5 AE
Diff 7,10,3 AE

Track is outside smedium dusty hard packed clay, sometimes wet. I guess about medium grip.

I tried calibers, subcultures, hole shots, crime fighters, sweeps, all about half worn.

I did notice the servo saver could be made tighter. That might help. I'll try that next time I race.
Anyone have any ideas what I need to change to get this car around wide turns? It pushes when turning on power.
