You're going to see a new 4wd before a truck / SC. The SC5M is a great truck and will be no slouch compared to a new version.

I went from the SC10.2 to the SC5m. Huge change in how they handle. The SC5M is miles a head of the SC10.

I have been real happy with the way it handles. smooth, fast compared to my SC10.

My setup is:

green springs front and rear,
32.5 oil front and rear
sway bars front and rear
Electron front and rear
3 gear tranny

Blvdbuzzer: That is what I was looking to hear. I need to get through the corners quicker to keep up at our local track. Any experience with other SC trucks with mid motor setup?

Rebuilding an sc5m roller I bought off the classifieds here. Upon reassembly, I noticed the real arms have a lot of slop at the hinge pin point. Ive got the brass c mount and aluminum d mount, arrows in and 3.5+2 in the c mount. Washers on the hinge pins per the manual.
Anyone else have slop here? Is that normal for the kit?

It's normal, you can shim it if it bothers you

the rear arm slop out fast. and then break soon after. I replace rear arms more than anything on this truck. I also use the plastic arms. The hard arms will slop out much slower

I was driving a SC10.2 for the last year and a half. Never could get it calmed down for long. This one, SC5M, was good, then had a ball diff issue, so went three gear and that was even better.

For my hack driving skills she is a nice one. Does more than I can.

Which body is everyone preferring to run on indoor clay? Recently got a sc5m and looking forward to wheeling it. Last SC I had was an sc10 with the jc illuzion hi flow body on it but I am seeing there is a new Proline flo-tek fusion precut body out that looks to be the newest design out there and leaning towards it.
Anyone with experience with the two bodies?

Hey guys, looking at picking up a SC5M soon since my 22SCT 2.0 is getting pretty worn and tired and there in no info of anything new coming out soon so I'm going to make the switch. I'm new to AE cars and did my research a little bit and seems like the two main things to get with the truck are the 3 gear trans and aluminum hexes. Anything else I should get with the truck right away?

Also, will my TLR wheels work on this truck?

Hi,

those were pretty much the things I got as well right off the bat. The plastic hexes are so terrible. The SC5M is pretty good right out of the box. I purchased the hard front and rear arms to fool with.

Hey Nick, TLR wheels are zero offset. They'll fit however wont be as good as running +3 offset,

The only other thing I would say is a must have would be the brass C block.
I've been running the new Truck Gray springs up front and Truck White springs in the rear.

Thanks Duffy I think I will try the TLR wheels first and just see how it feels. I sold my nitro buggy so I have some cash to play with and want to try the SC5M and see if its really better than my 22SCT.
