Maybe my memory is foggy, being that I was a 13 year old kid racing back then, but in my backwoods hick area where I grew up when a bigger sponsored racer (not talking about the local guy who owned a comm lathe and gave some hookups or something like that) came to any of the the tracks I raced at in the midwest, they would not be seen racing stock.
Like I said, stock brings out the worst in people.
