4 gear laydown vs 3 gear laydown : Jury still out. Interesting that LM car seemed to have less corner entry steering, an alleged symptom of 3 gear. Wonder if the suspension setups were the same?

The 3 gear in this car probably doesn't have as much as an effect compared too the b5/22 because of how low it is comparatively.

Hmm… Not sure I like what they've done for dirt with the DT "upgrade" kills the whole reason for me getting a YZ to begin with. Going to have to tinker to get it dialed in it's original Laydown form for dirt. If I can't get it dialed how I need I will likely sell or trade it for something meant for dirt. Maybe a B5M/Lite?

I was only able to do a single test run before yesterday's race but after weeks of rain here, the track was loose and poorly conditioned on Saturday, and Sunday was only a smidgen better so I opted to run the PRS1 instead. Either day it was a difficult day due to low grip on 70% of the track. It sure was easy on tires though. 2 qualifiers and the main and the tires look as if I took it out for a single lap. Supercup is the 13th and I will be practicing the full day before to see what I can get out of the YZ-2. Hope it's positive with the few changes I've implemented.

It would be really cool if Yokomo took a hint from Xray and made the diff easy access in the 3 gear boxes. This is a cool time in RC cars...so many good models!!

It's otherwise the same chassis with different holes.

I'm hoping the new chassis comes with both holes.

The current YZ-2 works great on my Home CLAY track. I'm not sure I'll sold on having to run a "dirt" edition of the car. I might be willing to convert one of mine over but not a fan of having to buy a whole new kit.

I run my YZ-2's on medium to high bite clay and they are doing quite well. Like KracOn, I'll probably pick up the standard 3 gear to use as an option if I can drill a pair of holes and drop it in.

I'm all for more options and appreciate Yokomo offering the 3 gear standard and 3 gear lay down. Having said that, the Yokomo guys moved from the 3 gear standard to the 4 gear BMax at the Reedy Race on some low to medium bite clay and somebody just pointed out that Rheinhard won the last EOS with the lay down 4 gear. 3 gear may help sometimes but 4 gear will be nice to have around.

I'm running my yz2 on medium to high bite clay and love it, I did pick up a bmax2 trans to try out but as of now I'm not seeing the need...
