Questions?? help with reciever

i just got a traxxas stampede from a friend it has a novak gtx esc it needed a reciever so i put my futaba fp -r112je reciever in it and nothing works the controler is a futaba t2ph is there anything i have to do to make things work? sorry imma noob

i read over that i have everything hooked up right but i think i figured out what might be wrong the reciever say 75 mhz and i am using 27 mhz crysals could this be the problem?

That is exactly your problem. You have to use a receiver and transmitter which both transmits on the 27 or 75 mhz frequency.

The reciever has a 27 mhz crystal and so does the transmitter but the reciever says 75 mhz on the sticker so does that mean i have to use 75mhz crystals?

Both the transmitter and the receiver MUST be 27 or 75 mhz, it is not enough to just put chrystals that are the same into them.

Before you go ahead and spend money on a new receiver and/or transmitter, why don't you have a look at 2,4 ghz-sets? Then you don't have to worry about frequencies and chrystals, the radio will by itself find a signal that is not used by others. And they are way more reliable too, and almost have none signal loss and at the same time has a huge range.
