1/8 ebuggy servo help
#31
I currently have a Hitec 7955 in my e-buggy but there have been times when I wanted something faster and considered buying a AE 1015.
On my nitro cars I run the Hitec 5955 on straight lipo so theyre faster then the same spec 7955 in my e-buggy which only gets 6v from the BEC. So I was thinking about getting the AE 1015 which is rated at .10 at 6v vs my 7955 which is .17 or something.
PS. My buddy is having problems with his transponder since switching to Savox servos. Seems that they may be drawing so much power the transponder isnt getting enough. I dont know which version Savox servo he is running though.

Hi fellow 1/8 racers,
I am buying a new steering servo for my 1:8 Tekno Mugen MBX6 eBuggy. I need a good servo since I am competing at a fairly high level. I have been looking at the DS1015 which is a popular choice in my country and seems to be a safe choice, only problem is people around here are reporting it works perfectly for a long time, until it randomly fails. Also, people seem to like Savox servos but the risk of browning out & running a external BEC isn't attractive aswell. Since I have a Spektrum DX3R Pro radio, I also looked into their servos but I only see two good pairs of Hi-speed and Hi-torque servos, the cheaper ones have good specs but also a note saying "Not reccomended for 1/8 applications" and the more expensive ones being more expensive than the DS1015, which is for me too much to pay for a unpopular product (at least here, people don't run Spektrum servos). However, while searching on Amain I found these two ProTek RC servos which have almost-DS1015-like specs and are exactly half the price. Anyone have 1/8 offroad experience with them? The brand should be good, since Hara uses it (at least for batteries)- not sure if he uses Futaba or Protek servos on his cars though

I'm using hitec hs7954sh steel gear high torque high voltage-is total overkill but you need a beast to steer a beast.
