Werks racing clutches for 1/8 buggy
i have been told these are some great clutches for 1/8 buggy, but they come in 3 different materials. They come in carbon, rulon, and PTF. I was wondering which material is better and what are the advantages/disadvantages

They've just announced a conversion kit htat allows the clutch to be adjusted without any disassembly. Sign me up.

The carbon shoes seem to be the most popular. The rulon are softer(more wear, earlier engagement), the teflon are harder( longer wear, later engagement and more slipping). You can use combinations of the different materials to fine tune. The gold(soft)spring seems to be the best. I use the carbon with the gold spring and it works great.

I have not experienced a problem using loctite. I have heard of people nicking the threads on the adjuster nut to make it stop moving. Haven't used the Werks much since I tried the RMV SPeed II clutch. It is externally adjustable and is very reliable so far.
