I have run the Hyper 9E on 2200Kv on 4S and in my opinion at least, its a bit much unless you are on a big track. I think though based on how torquey the motor is, on 3S I could see it be ran and working out.
I personally think you need to be at 1800Kv - 2050Kv range of motors on 4S, which is why I run the Tekin 1900Kv motor.

Tekin and Neu 1800kv-2050kv are a perfect fit for the Hyper 9e. Power band is just right for 4 cell batteries. majority of the guys who race club or Pro are using those size motors on their buggies. 2200kv-2650kv offer too much power so you have to dial both your throttle setting and ESC to tame those torque monster motors. If your not running your motor at optimum or near optimum setting then your motor is not running fully efficient, basically its wasted power. I say this because we have plenty of on-hand experience with every imaginable setup you can use on an 1/8 scale buggy.

anyone with a hyper 9e and mamba 2200 motor,do you have a motor support with it being a long motor or is it ok?.

Hey all! I've got a 2650 but haven't run it mych and need some gearing help. I saw someone post a 20 tooth pinion with a 3s Lipo on a medium track, how about a 4s lipo on a medium to large track? Also, anyone tried running with a 2s lipo on an indoor track?
Thanks!
Thanks!

yes, Run it with a motor support. I recommend cutting down the legs on the heat sink and sliding that on, save ya some cash.
