Thanks Cameron! Are you using the Pro4 truck hubs on your DEX410 or do you mean the axles don't work….sorry, DEX410 has too many driveshafts!

Sorry, I meant I like the they way the DEX210 rear cv pins are captured by the bearing too. They used that design on the DESC410 truck but we are stuck with the set screw cv on the DEX410. They have a new "option" cv that will use that same drive-line joint found on the v4. I would assume that this would have a free'er joint movement, but I am not sure how that would effect forward traction.

Hi Guys,

Quick update. Drove my DEX410v4 today on a low grip clay track. All i can say is everyone will be impressed. The car is another league above the V3. Biggest differences I noticed straight away within a few corners was the mid corner speed of the car and extra free roll due to the centre Universals which now come standard on the V4.

The feel of the new centre slipper (2way) is really nice and definately aided in its forward traction exiting corners.

And the other big difference is the new 3 hole 1.6mm pistons that can be made by the blank pistons supplied in the kit, car was dialled landing off the jumps and absorbed the bumps better.

If anyone wants my setup from the V4 PM ME. But in a short story its virtually Ryan Lutz's Worlds Setup. Only difference is 7k front diff oil and 3k rear.

Red front springs w/ 42.5 losi oil and 3 x 1.6mm pistons
Light blue rear springs w/ 35 losi oil and 3 x 1.6mm pistons.

Car was weapon, everyone should look forward to its release.

JK

anyone coming to the dex410v3 from the b44.2? Why did you switch? What are your thoughts?

I switched because every time a Durango hit me it broke my B44 true story.

The replacing front arms and diff gears several times a month got very old quick with the b44. I was just way faster with the Durango, it works with my driving style which I guess is pretty aggressive judging by the b44 parts I went through.

And my buddy bought and still owns your old 44 Cameron!!! LOL

it's currently jacked up because the right shock tends to over extend so his dog bone pops out and he can't figure out what the problem is. i told him to buy the parts and that I'll not go his lazy route and tear it down to bare bits and rebuild it fully so as to ensure every little component is gone over and installed properly, but he's being stubborn. LOL

Meanwhile I'm enjoying the hell out of my 410! It is considerably heavier but his/your 44 was beast when I drove it. Actually it's the reason I decided to jump into 4WD and it has become my favorite class for several reasons, though mainly because the 410 is so exquisitely engineered. I can't believe how different it is to every other RC car i've ever owned. The little details makes all the difference for me. The 44 would be my choice after the XB4, D413 and the K1, though readily available parts support for the 44 is unbeatable and keeps it high up on the list for anyone. It is a great buggy, but could stand to see a bit more improvement.

The 2 way slipper was out about a year ago only a few talk about it.
Few top drivers use it.
Now it s on v4 everybody talk about it.

On oople I read on low grip it s nice to drill 6 2mm holes on the rear slipper pad.

Has anyone tried?

The only thing I'm going to upgrade is the center universals. When the standard slipper is built and adjusted properly I don't see much advantage with the 2 way slipper. I doubt anyone could tell if they were driving a V3 or V4....

i don't think there will be much performance difference between 2way and original slipper. the major thing is that it protects the drive train a little better. (before, stress on the front will also transfer to the rear drive train).

someone said before that the universal joints are just not as strong as cvd. I guess 2 way slipper, alone with plastic spider gears in the diffs, are all the ways trying to protect the UJ from taking too much stress.
