Arrow Traxxas Slash or HPI E-Firestorm 10T?

I am looking into a new truck to complement my T-Maxx. I want to use it as my race truck/travel vehicle. I race about 1/3 of the time. I bash a lot, but I am not too hard on my trucks. The only problem is that I don't know what to get. I am going to go brushless at some time after I buy the vehicle. Can you give me your opinions?

The Slash is a fun truck but, depending on where you plan to race, you may have a hard time finding a class to race it in. The E-Firestorm, I believe, would fit in at any 1/10th scale stadium truck race.

If the track you plan to race it at has a Slash class, that would be the way to go, in my opinion.

The only thing I think about Slash's racing are how do you know what car is yours in the 1st turn?

The track I will race at allows the Slashes to compete in the 1/10 stadium truck class. I do think I will get the Slash, but keep your opinions coming.

Watch carefully. Very carefully.

No kidding...I lost mine once. I was thinking it had picked up a push...it seemed kinda sluggish. Then I realized it was still in the first turn and the marshal had been trying repeatedly to put it back on the track, while I had been "driving" the other guy's truck for a few turns.

JUst strip the RTR body with Easy Lift Off then you can lay down whatever custom paint you want. The original graphics do create a ghosting effect that looks really cool on mine.

1) It's really more like a Stampede than a Rustler.

2) If it was all about handling, neither one would be the top choice.

3) The Slash has an all metal tranny as well.

I say go to the track and see if something will let you take there vehicle for a spin to see what you think. offer to buy any parts you break (that really helps).

Me personally I like the fact that the whole slash craze seems to be fun. guys running together laughing and having a good time. I know for me at least, that would be the class I would do.

If they don't have a Slash spec class offered, you might be better off with something else. The Slash isn't really going to compete with a "normal" stadium truck, it's not meant to.

The Firestorm is a good truck for the money, but it is a budget racer.

Myslef and RB over at OCRC have a Firestorm that we run for fun. we put a little money into it and its one of the better trucks i've run. of course its not gonna be able to compete with a factory team AE or Losi but that thing will still turn some pretty fast lap times with just a new motor and the upgraded shocks
