Derek Furutani's paint job from the '91 Worlds in Detroit was bad ass! I used to have a bunch of pictures from that race, but I can't seem to find them

Funny story how I ended up with that body.....I was racing at M n M hobbies at some big race. At the time I was running for Traxxas (yes, they used to have an electric race program!) I was having trouble with my TRX3 buggy and ended up pulling out my mom's Losi Pro SE spare car to run. I didnt have a body to use and happened to be talking to Gil Jr about a basic set up for the car. He offered to bring me his spare old body to use for the event. After the event was over, he let me keep it. Forgot I had it after all these years. At last years Hot Rod Shootout, I had Gil sign it for me.

I ran for Traxxas from 1993-1994. Ran the TRX1 and got the TRX3 at the NORRCA Nationals in 1993 at Racers Haven. Fun times. I still have my TRX1 and 3.

I really do wish I would of kept my ol' TRX1. That still had one of the weirdest and coolest bodies of all.

I loved my TRX 1 - I'd love to find one in great shape, or even a new one. I still remember my paint job from back then. It would be cool to paint it up just like my old car.

TRX 1 is on my wish list along with an original JRX2.

Isn't it funny how Gil's body looked retro even for 1993? That looks like an early 80's theme to me. Even his new Kyosho truggy has a similar retro looking scheme.
