i was think about going novak 5.5 but i still like the power feel of a brushed motor so i dont know 11x2 or 5.5r BL. i dont even know what batts i want to run!

Only the FAST guys at my track run 5.5's but I understand why. (SPEED)
The 6.5 or 5.5 will be plenty for Wheeler.

i am running a trinity bl 6.5 in my 2wd buggy and WOW this motor is awesome. i also put a 6.5 in my xxx-4 just waiting to make it to the track with it. check out the trinity duo motors

I prefer the lrp comp esc and novak motors.

I just put a LRP Sphere 07 and an Orion 5.5 vortex in my xxx4G+ and it is smooth and powerful. I haven't gotten a chance to race it on a track yet but it feels good on my backyard track.

5.5 is alot of motor. I say start with a sintered 7.5. Max 6.5.

I'm pretty new so I've only used a Novak motor, and it's worked so well, I plan on sticking with Novak for the motors.

But for ESC, I've used the Novak GTB and the Speed Passion GT, and I definitely recommend the Speedpassion. They both work fine but the tuner box that comes with the SP is WAY better than programming based on the flashing LED lights on the Novak.

I'm in the same boat. I have been racing an 8ight and an 8ight-T. I just got a T4 and am looking to go brushless. Based on what I've read/heard Mamba Max w/ 5700 is a sweet spot. But I've also heard good things about Novak and LRP.

Another question - Castle has a great chart which says what motor with what battery will give you what kind of speed. This is good to help one judge. But the other companies don't have this. What is the conversion between a 5700kV Mamba and a 7.5 turn LRP (and others)

is there any good place to go look?
