Default Can't get XR2i to work with ESC

I have an JR XR2i radio that I pulled out of and XXX-T RTR II Kit and one of the ESCs that come in the kit. It is made by Novak for Losi. I can't get the radio to control the ESC. Maybe the ESC is bad, I am not sure. I tried reading all of the instructions but still can't get it to work. Is there some trick I am not aware of?

Here are a few things to check:
Are you using the correct receiver?
Are your crystals in securely?
Do you have the ESC and servo in the correct channels on the receiver?
Hope that helps...

thanks pull-start. I have done all of those things and followed the instructions closely. Has anyone set up these two before? Did you have any issues with them.

I have had trouble with getting Novaks to work, try turning up your throttle exponential if you can, this should help the ESC pick up your radio.
