if the fan doesnt fit...what my friend did on his bk2 was lay the fan standing up next to the esc...and screwed a piece of lexan on the heatsink and attached the lexan onto the fan so the air could flow through the esc.

Sorry, my bad, don't listen to me, like I said I don't have one yet. I didn't read the whole thing properly and was looking at the link of the novak fan which was 25*25, but didn't realise that this is not the replacement for the one that bolts on to the speedy.

So I assume it's actually 30*30 like ddcarter had said if I had've bothered to read it...

I'm running a ZX-5 with a 5.5 and 78/16 gearing with no fan and have not thermalled once. I haven't checked temps.

for those who are thermalling and those that are not, what batteries are you running? 1.2+V? strange that 1/2thermal and the other half dont thermal. maybe has to do with batteries?

Fan replacement is 30x30

. I am running Orion Platinum. This probably is not helping as the voltage is a little higher than regular sub-c batts. Also, I race in the Houston, TX area. Ambient temps are in the mid to upper 90's with a side order of heavy humidity. The 15 pinion did wonders. 130 on the esc.
