I remember, way back, when cars were specifically designed for that specific IFMAR Worlds racetrack for that year. After the race, the manufacturer would start selling the cars with this setup, such as longer arms and a specific suspension geometry. The problem was, those cars worked great on those really large tracks with big turns and smooth jumps but sucked on smaller tight tracks. I know that is still the case, but it's just not as prominent.

Losi and TLR has slowly went down hill when Horizon Hobby bought the brand. Everything associated with Horizon Hobby seems to have moved away from racing and more into basher and RTR stuff! Maybe that’s the market but racing still holds a big part of it. I feel they have out priced themselves on all brands

man the market has outpriced it self from me. off-road cars are all $400 now and on road cars are all $700 now. My B5m is ready for a upgrade but I refuse to spend the same on a AE as a X-ray. but X-ray doesn't have parts availability as AE, so I just refuse to upgrade at all. lol.

TLR isn't letting anyone take pics of the 22's. They're covering them up and hiding them away apparently.
TLR took TQ and the A1 win - and it wasn't Dakota doing it.
*edit* - and now they've got the 2wd win! Congrats Tater and TLR! Hopefully we get a 6.0 out of this!

It does appear that Tater was indeed running just a TLR 22 5.0 Elite, with no visible major changes in diff housing or the likes. He was running Protek Batteries and Hobbywing motor for this event due to IFMAR approvals.

Other than what look like 13mm shocks Phend's car from the ROAR Nats looked pretty standard. Of course he ran the Vision C-block and 22x-4 rear arms and the front end mod but other than that his 22 5.0 looked pretty stock kit fair. Granted there could be a some secret sauce under the hood that we don't know about but it seems that as long as Phend wins, or at least makes it onto the podium, TLR is more than happy to rest on their laurels. Don't get me wrong, I dig my TLR stuff and am pretty well pot committed so I'm not switching from TLR anytime soon. I got back into RC last year after being out of it for about 22 years and since I'm a huge Losi fan from BITD I went with TLR. If I had waited until this year to get back in, knowing what I know I probably wouldn't be able to justify running TLR. I guess we'll see if they decide to come out with a "Worlds" kit or upgrade after the Worlds this year, especially if they do well.
