Default Stampede 2wd Extended Chassis

There are lots of nice 313mm wheelbase truck bodies out there so I decided to stretch my 2wd Stampede a little to accommodate one. I made the chassis out of 1/4" thick aluminum flat bar. I think 1/8" thick would have done the trick but I was a little worried about flexing and bending. I can post pics after I get a body if anyone's interested.

What body do you plan on putting on it?

I really like the TRX-4 Sport pickup body. I'm also thinking of the '73 Bronco body from Proline.

What kind of power are you putting in there? I'm curious if it makes it a little bit more drivable with brushless power. My only gripe with the stampede has always been that it wheelies too easy I wonder if this will solve it.

Sorry for the late response. Right now I'm only using a brushed 27 turn motor so it's very weak and not at all prone to wheelies. I'm planning to add a brushless motor in the 3000 to 3500 KV range soon and I'll let you know how it behaves then. I think the extra chassis length will really help reduce the wheelies and I've heard that that is the case from others.

Would the wheel base be similar to the SC version?

You mean the Slash? The 2wd Slash wheelbase is around 335mm I think. My truck here has a wheelbase of about 315mm.
