GS STORM CL-1 THREAD

any body have any experience with one .

associatedguy 03-13-2006 04:31 PM

I don't have personal experience, but a guy at the track has one. The first week he put it on the track he won the a main. And has continued to do so since then.

Marty Korn finished 5th at The Dirt with a mostly stock ride. Not bad for the big pro race of the year.

I have two practice sessions on mine and will be running the first club race this weekend if it doesn't rain. Marty's set up is a very good baseline for the car. The CL-1 is very stable and tracks well. So far so good.

anyone have any trips for getting the fluids in the diffs filled right? On mine, I built it...filled them. Ran the car. Took it apart again and the diffs were only about 1/4 the way full? I figured it was due to the smaller gears not letting the oil get under them?

Brandon Powell 03-27-2006 01:57 PM

Did you have any fluid leaking around the gasket or set screw ? If not it probably wasn't full .

I usually fill mine and slowly rotate the outdrive and then let it sit for a few minutes. It usually needs more to fill it after it settles.

runnin rc10 03-27-2006 06:24 PM

Yea it didnt leak any around the seal or the gasket. I think I just need to realize its gonna take more than 2 minutes  I will take a little more time on them next time and see if I get better results.

Brandon Powell 03-27-2006 07:17 PM

If there were no leaks, you have what you started with.

runnin rc10 03-27-2006 07:26 PM

Yah..I just need to make sure to fill them better next time. How are you liking your car these days Brandon? Im gettin my geared up hopefully soon. Ive got a few prosecs and sp2's on my radar I would love to derail..haha

Brandon Powell 03-27-2006 08:14 PM

So far so good. The car is stable and real fast at the apex of a corner. I have an indoor race in two weeks at Alabama, IWC Classic race, and hope to have a good indoor set up to pass along.

kyracer 03-28-2006 10:51 AM

Runnin,

You better do alot more homework if you are thinking about passing my Pro Spec! :sneaky:

Better yet I will give you a really good lesson on the track this year. :D

better 03-28-2006 05:45 PM

If a prospec's gas tank was any taller you would need to cut the body and the spur gear is way too big a 46 not a 44 like the cl1.

Ok I'm just playing the prospec is a dam good car too!
