Is this enough torque for a B74? 152oz @ 7.4v
https://www.amainhobbies.com/futaba-...tm0158/p390902

Or should I go with the real monster? 680oz @ 7.4v

The first one will be a bit light on torque for a 4wd.
The second one will probably pull the front end off if your end points aren’t adjusted properly. 😀

Really impressed with the addition of aluminum hubs for this buggy, especially with the screws to tighten against the axle height insert. Huge improvement in tracking from the rear end, very predictable. Due to the flex and loose tolerance of the plastic rear hub I was finding more rear toe in would help the rear wheels follow the front, now I can take away some toe and have the same stability.

Where have you seen aluminium hubs for the B74?

OK, so I went an ordered a B74 Team Kit. . .

Now I was wondering if you fine and talented folks would be willing to guide me in the selecting the other components that I'll need.
I’m more interested in quality/durability with price being low on the list. I’d rather spend for the better stuff at the start (i.e., best of breed/top of the line).

These are the items I’ll be needing:

Motor(s) (Brushless): Trinity (Remembering them from days past. It’s all I ran back then)

Battery: (?) (I always used Trinity matched packs back in the day)

ESC: Really leaning toward the Tekin (RSX Pro). However, I’ve been looking at Reedy (Blackbox 1000Z+ Pro or Blackbox 510R)

Servo: (Futaba or Reedy. . . Always ran Futaba or Novak back in the day)

Transmitter/Receiver: (Always used Futaba)

Wheels: (Looking at DE Racing, Associated. Or. . . ?)

Body: (Stock TA, unless there are other options)

Pinion(s) (?)

Tires (?)
For now it’s going to be used to on the following surfaces/terrain:

Park: Softball field (with sand, grass, clay and concrete to asphalt walk)

Parking lot: (All asphalt)

Section of my in-laws 7-acre property: turf/grass, pebbles, clay, dirt mounds, hills, (mulch-type terrain in wooded area consisting leaves, twigs/branches, exposed tree roots dirt/soil, pine needles, mud (near stream bank), embedded rocks/stones etc. (open areas to run) I know, I know. . . Probably best for a "basher" Truggy, but I used to have loads of fun with My Frog(s) and RC10s back in the day when I wasn't at the track!

Any other parts/upgrades/etc. you suggest.

Thanks!

That explains why I've not heard of them, I can't get them so don't look at RDRP

Can't use them either, same importer as RDRP for the UK.

A local friend tapped his AE hubs for something similar. He said it reduced slop but it ruins the inserts in a few runs.

Tradeoffs I guess

Working on rebuilding my diffs, for the center diff is there a weight similar to the front and rear? Manual has slipper and I cant find a instruction for center diff. Or just cover the gears similar to B64 instructions? Thanks all.
