Default Excited to run my EB410!

Just about ready to test this bad boy at the track tomorrow! Just have to glue the tires on is all! And I’m very proud of the paint job. Not bad for only my 2nd one. Anything I need to do before I put it through it’s paces, such as breaking it in or anything?

Setup specs:
Tekin Redline Gen3 6.5T
SMC 170 amp esc
Amazon servo (we’ll see how it does for $25)
Venom 4500 mah 100c shorty
Proline Positron MC all 4
Cain and Sharky8js like this.

After you get the tires glued, you need to set the ride height, check camber and toe settings. Did you program the esc and set the end points for the steering? If so you need to drive it around to make sure the steering trim is set so the car drives straight.

A 6.5 is a lot of motor, so don't be surprised if you repeatedly crash your brand new car really hard. The Tekno is durable, but it does have some weak points (hinge pins and turnbuckles are soft, and the rear outer hinge pins are not captured).

Nice! One thing I would expect to replace before too long if not right away is that plastic servo horn. Upgrade to an aluminum one and you won't have an issue of it stripping out.

If you want that stripe to pop out take a black sharpie and trace the blue edge... also do the window trim or other details.... if you don't like it wipe it off with alcohol

Looks good! I also just finished my EB410 build last night. Running a Tekin 5.5 with the SMC 170 ESC as well.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Little update....

You guys are right, this is a whole lot of motor! I had to turn my throttle endpoints down to 85% to make it a little more controllable for my newbness in the racing realm. I have been crashing it but nothing too crazy. Only things I have needed to replace so far is the plastic servo horn did strip so I bought an aluminum Protek RC one. I also needed to replace the front upper shock holding bolt that goes into the tower, along with a wing. That’s it so far with quite a few runs on it by now.

Loving this car so far! My lap times are at least 1 sec faster than my 2wd 17.5 stock car which is to be expected. Bigger motor and more traction with 4wd.

Have you had a chance to run it yet? I’m impressed with that SMC 170. Especially for what I paid for it. I was a little disappointed to see they went up in price a bit but at least it was after I purchased mine lol.

But it’s an amazing esc so far. I read reports that the drag brakes were a little weak on it. I wonder if they did a firmware update for that or something because mine are good. I even turned drag brake down one notch from factory setting!

Teeyo.. keep an eye on the shock caps, we've been running the eb410 for a bit now, my brother and a buddy of ours had issues with the caps popping off and elected to go with aluminum caps. Interesting how you got the rear wing to fit with the shocks underneath it like that, you don't have any issues with the rear shocks hitting the wing? Where's your track located?

I will keep an eye on the shock caps, that’s really the only bad I have heard about the car and I had to be very careful getting the plastic shock caps on, not to cross thread them. Might just upgrade to the aluminum ones before my first shock rebuild lol.
Your comment about the wing has me realize I was supposed to cut out the openings for the rear shocks lol. But I haven’t noticed an issue with it like that. But I don’t know lol. I race at Murf’s Intermountain RC Raceway in Salt Lake City (indoor clay track). How about you?
