Well, my two stepsons both bought a motor/esc combo in the last two months, a 17.5 & 10.5
They were both quite quick & initially impressive....then,
Both motors shit themselves, one a wire fault, one a bearing
And one esc just gave up the ghost!
Of course, covered by warranty but they still had to buy replacements to get by with, so understandably not very impressed now

Well I cant speak for onroad but in my b44 it is just as fast as anything else out there. Highly recommend it and they are cheap also which is a bonus!

been running 1 of the 17.5 motors, pretty quick and never had a problem with them. Ran at the CC at sma, managed a 15.9 in a slightly inebriated state and im not a gun driver by any means

I find the Trinity motors are pretty good.

I do know in 1/8 circles the Losi motors are pretty much avoided.

Although i am biased, i've probably been one of the people running them longest in aus, i have 2 x 17.5 combos in my off road cars, and i can honestly say after 7 months of running the 17.5 and longer with the 13.5 ive not had any dramas, and my cars are as fast down the straight as anything, companies keep bringing out new gen motors, but they dont seem any quicker and dont forget larry fatrice (sp) won a big 13.5 race in touring car not long ago with the xcelorin exc and motor. oh and they dont seem to run as hot as a lot of other motors ive seen and run

It doesn't need the cable but the cogging is noticeable at slow speeds / takeoff.

Faster motors seem to cog less when run sensorless.

all the approved roar motors are all sensored type for stock in 17.5T by the looks any way

wonder when the hobby wing 17.5 will get approval

but for the price i might try a xceleron 17.5

many thanxs for all the help

The only sensorless that are approved are the castle creations for mod. Losi motors are great but I have seen quite a few failures with the speedies. The motors are made by hacker and not losi anyways Hacker motors are quite popular in the states

You can run other sensorless motors in mod..

Hook up a sensored 17.5t to a sensorless speedo and it's the same thing as a sensorless motor so there's no reason why they shouldn't approve the Hobbywing 17.5.
