I am in the same boat. I could not find any. I was looking at buying two 4600 stick packs from Harris Rc for $65 and pulling them apart to make three packs. It is cheaper than buying them from the states.

You can buy anything for your mini, but that would not make any difference at all. ITS A MINI!

we are running 1 cell lipo in 1/12th and its awesome.

You buy a IB4200mah lipo saddle pack and you instantly get 2 single cells for your 1/12th.

you make 8 mins with no problem at all in mod. you do need a quicker motor than previously but you can run with a 5.0 and be competitive if the track does not have a huge straight.

we even spoke to peter ellis about using them at sanctioned events and he saw no issue as long as you made minimum weight.

forget the torch batteries and move on to 1 cell lipo

Tell me more-I have seen the thread in the international section but CBF reading the million or so pages....

What esc are you using? Any rx packs? what motor wind is the go? anyone melted a LIPO from over discharge yet? Do you need to be careful about the thottle to make run time or can you be heavy handed like I am?

Is there any official word anywhere from AARCMCC about this on the forums? My main concern would be over discharge protection as it is a requirement in thr "official" rules for 2s lipos to be protected by esc or external measure, and would assume this would be required for the 1s systems also. I am all for this if possible and think that the 6000mah packs look real tasty for this purpose

AndyM did the maths for me a while back on the 1 cell, to get the same RPM as the 6.5s most of us run at 4.8v you need a 3.5 turn motor. According to people in the states and UK, run time is an issue with turns that low (with the SMC 4000 pack anyway), but compared to carpet we hardly use the throttle so I reckon it'll be sweet. I think I'll still wait till some other manufacturers jump on the 1 cell bandwagon and offer 5000mah+

The 6000 lipo saddle packs are slightly taller than the 4200 versions (31mm v 24mm approximately)

My thoughts too, I was dumping fresh 4600's at the nats with a 4.5 at the 7.50 mark, so would need to motor down on the 4200's IMO just to be safe.

Before anyone says anything it was the only mod B/L I had so that whay I ran it, and yes it was way too fast for me, but somehow really good fun at the same time!

Dont forget that the capacity figure is measured differently between Nimh and lipo ... Lipo is from fully charged down to the 6 volt cutoff (or 3 volt in the case of the 1S.

Nimh I believe is measured from fully charged to zero. Hence the apparent greater capacity of a lipo for a nominated capacity compared to a nimh

There is a adaptor from Novak that you can use to up the voltage for the radio gear then you won't have to use a secondary battery pack to run your radio gear. Talking to Ari from HEI it wont hit here till end of this month.
Could be to late for the State Titles or maybe not.

Here's what Trev is talking about: http://teamnovak.com/products/smart_boost/index.html

Hope to see these next month some time.

As Ben has said you can run without it and finish the race with no issues, UNLESS its a large track... dont think many would make time at tracks like ACT.
