Default First race day "THINKS YOU MUST KNOW"

You are all invited to our first race day 10th September but be aware that we do not have power at this stage and you will need to bring your own form of recharging batteries. We will have a couople of generators running but com prepared as if they were not there.
Tie downs have been put in place for tents on the asphalt so they do not blow away.
Ther will be no curbs on corners at this stage, our old timber ones will be used.
100mm poly pipe barries will be inplace, it will be very had to damage a car on our new track

A few notes to be aware of:
1. there will be no back fence in place, car can be lost of the bank but you have a six meter back straight and with a one meter run off.
2. No fence on the east end, 15Mtr drop but we have a tyre wall in place.
3. No barrier between pit lane and pit area, but we will use some of our PVC tubing for our first event.
4. as mentioned above LIMITED POWER, 4-6 weeks away
5. Closest Food & Drink are some 8Km's away so bring your own.

NOW FOR THE HIGH POINTS
Smooth surface
Great traction
Great design
Will be one of the best looking tracks facilities when finished

1/5th
This track has been designed to start a new 1/5th class on the coast and it will not disapoint.
FOR GAS:
1. 59.5 main straight into a flat out sweeper if you are game (remember the 15 mtr drop)
2. 5mtr wide track widening to 6mtrs on main Straight
3. some of the best infield corners (if you thought our previous tracks were great check out the new design)
4. Total track length 318Mtrs racing line.

FOR ELECTRIC
We have a shorter version, distance not yet measured
36mtr pit straight that leads into some great infield turns, onto a shortened main straight (approximatly 20mtrs)that sends you back towards the start, with a few more challenging corners. Brad Taylor could not get the grin of his face when we had a trial run after the first working bee.

Some People to THANK
Gold Coast City Council (Vote for Ted Shepard if you live on the coast) we have this facility due to his great efforts
Thanks go to the some 20+ people that turned out for the first working bee. hope you all plan to be at the next one 17th of September. In field to paint, curbs to go in place, more fencing ect.

Off Road track has been held up due to the following
Rain
Locked gate and no Right of use in place untill after the asphalt went down
and again more rain
This comming week should see more soil go in and work begin. Watch the web site www.gcmr.org.au

I went there the other day. It's directly oppisite the school. Go in the driveway on the other side of the road to the school and head to your left. You have to go up the small hill to see the track. You'll be able to see the drivers stand.

Default Directions

To find the new track
If you are heading North or South on the M1 take exit 77.
Then turn West (Inland) I.e left for the guys heading North and Right for the guys heading South.
At the "T" intersection turn left on to Mudggeraba Rd, follow this road for around two Kilometers.
Turn right on to Worongary Rd at the Mudgeerabah show grounds.
Follow this road for 6Km, at this point you will find a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights.
Turn left into the carpark and park your car (the track area is above you)
If the boom gate is open you can drive through to the track area.

I have plenty of keys to the boom gate but you have to be a member and pay for a key to get access any time you please. Non members can practice during the week but will need to carry their gear in.

Become a member help build the facilities

I agree with StevenC, your website is not very well updated.

Also it mentions that anyone who is not a member will have to pay to become one before they can race, does this mean that for those that will come to for "a look" are going to be told they can only race if they pay the membership fee.

Also this is the Gold Coast clubs ONE and ONLY chance to make something of the club. I used to race at Mudgeeraba but moved away and couldnt race every meeting. I then started racing at other clubs and unfortunately the way those clubs were run completely put the GC Club to shame.

I am going to try and get down the on Sunday and I just hope the new blood in the committee understand how important it is for the club to get this day right, and I mean right. I used to really enjoy racing at the GC club after racing at other clubs (Meakin, Bayside, Beaudesert) it provided me with the answer as to why the GC club couldn't attract regular competitors.

Just a tip: If you are going to continue to race every three weeks you will have a lot of trouble attracting regular drivers. Join the club and race every second week alternate to Meakin or Bayside. Just my 0.02 cents.

If I cant make it I wish the club all the success for the day and hope everyone has a blast

Default Noise issues

We have a perfect location
No houses for a few Kms
School across the road does not operate on the weekend when we run
The amount of noise caused by people practicing during the week will not affect anyone.

We have Location, Location Location

Line marking went down today
Main straight fence will be finished by Saturday
Possibly some of the infield will be painted by Sundays first event at Gilston.

Remeber if you are comming dont rely on us supplying power we will have a couple of generators running but if a crowed shows up you may miss out, so come prepared.

If you are bringing a shade tent we have tie downs in place for 15 tents.

See you all on Sunday.

Entries close 9.30am
Raceing at 10am
Open practice from when you get there.
Track will be closed for a time to blow of any leaves and dust.
Controled practice from about 8 or 8.30am
