i don't think there is just ONE person that is the best. there are heaps of aussie painters that create good jobs.

there is a guy on this forum called "ChristianSilva" who does good work. it is very professional, clean, and creative. but he sometimes does stuff that isn't in the "norm" so it doesn't really wow people for some reason. (ie his spiderman body! it was perfect, but i've seen people freak and praise a stardard looking "japsec" paintscheme more than other more creative stuff, ie the spiderman bods Christian did). Christian is also a professional airbrush artist and instructor (i think? )

also Ben, "Thunderpaint!" does good stuff. but he i think, he uses sometimes more standard designs and templates, (i mean more japanese style type designs, which you would find on a touring car body). this guy paints for alot of the quick guys, and i've seen him deliver around 5 or so bodies all in one go, all in identical scheme designs to Rick Bartolozzi. so if you want someone who can bang out clean, identical, cool designs go with Ben.

there is also a guy called MikeKatts...i think, on this forum. there is a old "airbrush" thread soemwhere with pictures of the works from these painters in the previous pages.

personally my favourite painter is "ShopUFO" he is in the international painters thread, and has his own thread. this guy is pritty bloody good, but he only does the "japsec" style and never veers away from it. IF YOU LIKE "JAPSEC" PAINTSCHEMES GO WITH SHOP UFO!! hectic work.

ps; Tim Liu "wombat" is also is a kickarse painter...but he retired moons ago!!

What I meant was I am looking for painters which produce work of a high standard which is constant. I have seen people pay a lot of money for work that has run and the masking that hasn't been cut out properly or has just leaked, just low standard work. If i had ordered that body I would of been quite disapointed. I looking for work I can depend on and when it arrives be pleasantly suprised at how good it actually is.
I understand that you pay a premium for quaility work but when you think you can pay $1500 to get a 1:10 scale touring car going paying over $100 for a painted body is alright.

I'm also looking for someone in Australia to do it. For one reason the postage and I looking in magazines and on the net at some of the work that US painters do and I think that the Australian stuff is as good or even better

Thanks

His shells have won concours at TCS 2005 and every class bar Stock at the Vics this year.

Yeh, and even then it was his mate that Dave Bain that won the Stock concourse title. :-)

I use MattFX to paint my bodies and I am stoked with the results, especially for the price. For $40 per paint job (just supply the body) it is a steal!!
