Default NON RACERS HELP MORE THAN RACERS

WHITTLESEA RC RACERS would really like to know if people like rc racing and would like another track in melbourne / vic in the northern subs,we have had more support from non racers than people who do race so do leave your thoughts the more the better thanks.

The deal is Richard 1000, that everyone who owns a R/C car decides lets get a track/club up and running. without looking into it.
There is alot of hard work and money that goes into getting both started.
And until the basics are done alot of racer (I mean guys who travel and get involved in administration side of club) wont be interested.
I know of a track in Geelong that operates but none of the guys that race 1/8
elsewhere will go there because the track is not up to standard and they dont have insurance etc. The deal here in Bendigo was 5 guys built the track and got the club started. On any given race day we still only get about 6 local drivers and the rest come from other towns. Last meet 22 cars 6 locals.
Last weekend at shep 17 cars 4 locals. You cant unfortunatly count on local racers to keep your club going. The old saying build it and they will come.
You just need someone to step up to the plate and say this thing is going to happen.

Default Richard

I had quite a lot of involvement with MTHC getting up and opening their indoor track. The change in owners was a definite draw card but this facility was already there, it just wasn't getting used. The only thing I had to do was to show the new owners that I could get 20-30 racers there to race and he would put things in order. The open night had 22 registered drivers and a heap of spectators, 4-5 racers there without cars aswell. We are onto our second race meet (not counting the open night) and guys are coming from Mt Waverly, Dandy and croydon. So they will come, the say they might help out but sometimes they are not needed, they just need to show up and support the race days, thats what they do.

The key was to engage people who do race and talk it up, there is no positve actions from scowling and repremanding people on what we don't have or do. You need to find the key people in each group and get them on board, give them some ideas of what you are up to and they will come up with there own ideas and action of what needs to get done.

I had thought that the tracks are light on, on the dark side of the town (southeast Melb). I reacon the old Ikea building would make a fantastic location for indoor racing, plenty of parking. You could run a business there selling parts, kits and run probably two or more tracks inside. You would have to lay down some dirt in the carpark to build an off-road track but again plenty of space.
If you want to talk openly about what involvement and contribution I had with my experience with MTHC and what I learned from it you can PM me anytime. Sometimes the people who do stand up to be counted in organising clubs are the first ones you should be talking to.

Richard,

Your post is incoherent, undecipherable!!!!
How long have you been racing? Do you come to Knox to race?
The Vic off-road scene is enjoying a resurgence of sorts, as is off road as a whole.
Before mouthing off, why don't you take the time to contact people in the know?
Racing lines has all the relevant contact information in the back pages.
This forum is a useful tool as well, WHEN USED PROPERLY.
Sorry, caps lock.......
There are a lot of people in the racing scence happy to help. Countless hours have gone into improving Knox in the last few months, all from volenteers. Hardly a lack of interest there!!!
I would love to see a new facility in Melbournes North.
Why not come to Knox for the next clubby and see how well it's run.
I'll leave that up to YOU!

Did you really need to start a second thread on a similar topic as the first one?

I'd feel more pity for you if you actually used proper spelling, grammar and laid off the Caps Lock.

What you said does not make any sence.
Why don't you post your details???
Is it because Daddy would'nt be happy with some angry bricklayers coming to have words with his 14 Y/O Son who's been mouthing off online?
