What a car right out of the box!

Had our first race meeting of the year last night and our first outing for the XB4. I got to the track early and made some work on the setup to suit our dry and dusty conditions here in WA.

I settled on some shock settings with 6 hole 1.1 pistons but 2 holes in each piston drilled to 1.5 and 500cst front and 450cst rear oils, front lower shocks moved to the inside hole and 7k oil in the rear diff. The only other deviation from the box clay setup was using the .5 rear hinge pin holders facing inwards to narrow the rear end 1mm overall.

Car felt great to drive and I had to learn how to take advantage of the gear diff corner exit speed. Once I worked it out a bit I managed to win both qualifiers and the second final. I monged it in the first final and was 10th after the first lap but was able to drive back from there to second place.

There were 4 XB4's running last night and no one broke anything or suffered a failure. I saw one of my team mates fiercely testing the durability of the parts with some spectacular crashes and was surprised there was no damage after reading all the issues on the net.

Overall from me it's 3 thumbs up!

Does anyone have a spare lower shock cap? One of the ones in my kit looks to be a dodgey cast and the thread looks iffy... Bugger

I will persist with it and see if I can get it to start without damage

No stock of Front Bulkheads, we never received any in our first shipment. There is another order on the way, will arrive in 2 weeks.

I finished my build a couple of days ago, Really nice Kit to build.

All my previous expeirence was building AE off road cars and an M05. This kit went together super easy and the manual was spot on. Nothing was sloppy or needed forcing (other than a lower Shock cap), build / Part Quality was second to none.

Plenty of room for Electrics too.

Im going to give it run today, should be a blast!

Another great outing with the car last night here in WA. Having come from the Kyosho I thought I had a well balanced car but having gotten used to the XB4 now I'm thoroughly impressed!

Boz and I have been working through some setup items and he has uploaded the setup to the X-ray site for what we used last night.

Looking forward to getting the support kit.

I think I might still put the metal bevel and satellite gears in it for peace of mind.
Just need to find stock of them and the diff pins
