Default FORMULA R/C

A new season is here, and with that, some major changes. What are they?

1. Moving indoors for the season(No Weather to contend with, use of facilities)
2. Asphalt to Carpet Track
3. Switching to Saturdays to allow for better travel for our distant racers.

This change was brought on by some personal things, so if there are questions feel free to PM me. It was this or no racing this year, plain and simple. This at least provides an opportunity for our format to carry on until things get sorted.

As always, we appreciate the support of all of our racers, past, present and future. If our former carpet fun runs at this track were any indicators, we should be having a blast this year. Solid turn outs, lots of laughs, and more importantly, some clean, competitive racing.

Good to have you at any of them man. I know last year was a bummer for you with not making many.

Had some great ones today shaking down the car for sure. Unfortunately those SP1 arms are breaking like fortune cookies. . Going to try and have the track set up for practice next Sunday afternoon (May 15th) For open practice and shakedowns on everyone's cars if they feel the need to run.

Matt, I should be there at store opening (10am). Figure that the track should open by Noon. We can get that thing dialed in man. I've got some things that we can use to make sure that chassis it tweeked correctly. With the way the F1's were running together last sat, it'll be sweet to have one more in the fight.

The track is set up prior to this weekends upcoming FRC session should anybody want to work on their setups. It was slick today, but towards the end of the day it felt good. See you next Saturday.

Doors open at 9am. REGISTRATION CLOSES AT 11:15AM! Practice until 11:20am. Driver's meeting 11:25am. Qualifiers at 11:30. Races Run at around 12:30. If all runs smoothly, I figure we should be out by 4:30-5:00 give or take, depending on turnout and the amount of races there will be. We will be running the races and amount of cars according to time available.

A note to those with a lot of equipment, there is a freight elevator available at the shop. Please contact the employees up front, or a director in order to use.

Thanks for a fun time frc. Formula 1 action was fast and tight with 9 entries. Good start for that class

As Matt mentioned, Saturdays first Formula R/C race of the season kicked off at HobbyTown Oshkosh, and we had a nice turnout. F1 brought in nine cars to the battle, and Mark Sweeny seal clubbed most of the field with his CRC and some serious driving. Jeff Bergen brought the most heat on Mark with his typical skills and really pushed Mark in the last round finishing just FIVE ONE HUNDREDTHS of a second behind him after a full TEN MINUTE RACE!

The rest of the F1 field battled for the scraps, and all were very close by times. Clean driving will tend to allow for that, and there were close, clean battles throughout the field in their own respects.

VTA, MINI, and USGT showed as well, but we were down quite a bit on the numbers. It's a shame, as those classes had clean racing as well as laughter and smiles both on and off of the track. Hopefully, more drivers will dust off their rides and join us in the fun once a month for the program. As always, we do this for the racers, and you determine how long the racing lasts. We are the only one in the state who runs this type of program, and it has been a great success, so come on out and race with some friends.

Points are posted on our Facebook Page, and Tom will be adding some action shots in the near future. As always, thanks for coming out and participating, and we'll see you on June 11th
