Exclamation Green bay wisconsin RC clubs?

My wife has seen some folks running RC cars in a parking lot over on commerce drive off of GV by the kwik trip and the new brown county sheriff's station in the summer...

I was wondering if anyone here runs there? If so, what sort of cars are you running? Gas? Electric? Large scale? Minis?

Any other outdoor places to run in the summer? Dirt heaven is out for me, I've only got my 1:18th dromida sc4.18 car, and I'm not ready to jump into 1:10th yet. I've got a lot invested in this little beast and want to get good at driving it before taking the plunge into the cost of a car that stock goes for the same money as this one I have that I've got tricked out with all sorts of bells and whistles

Thanks!

Traves

For off-road or dirt oval, try Victory Hobbies on Mason st.

Correct. Victory no longer has any tracks, just a small parts store.

Dirt Heaven in Champion, WI is the closest place to Green Bay for off-road and dirt oval. They have indoor 1/10 offroad, dirt oval (outside), and an off-road track outside.

The club you saw running in the lot over by GV is the Formula RC group. I ran that series one summer and it was a lot of fun. They run VTA, USGT, F1, and Mini classes (not sure of others). They have a Facebook page here:

https://www.facebook.com/FormulaRC/

The next closest place is Revolution Raceway in Neenah, WI. It's right off 41 near Pierce Manufacturing.

Thanks for the link... I sent a join request. Always good to network. Actually went over to dirty heaven last night and met a dude I used to work with that's into RC that I didn't know about. He's also into hot rods and kustoms which I'm also into. Was cool to catch up

I would personally just pick up a 1/10 you can get them rtr for under $200, and still get some of you money back. It can get frustrating, not being able to find to run with. 2 wd short course is ran almost everywhere, if you want something with tons of people and lots of locations, check out crawling, that is really popular around here. 1/18 where popular a few years ago, the losi sprint car was a huge class, but it almost died out as fast as it came in.

Yeah, I'm kinda 8n deep with this car now... I'm going to build a track in the yard here, we've got almost 5 acres so I've got room. I just can't afford to buy another car right now. Maybe in a year or so. I gotta learn to drive this one first anyhow, and a track in the yard will be convenient enough in spring summer and fall. In the winter months I'll just bash in the shop or make the trip to Oshkosh once in a while
