2014 Midwest Nitro Series
#1

Welcome to the mwns forum page. As many of you may know some big news has already been posted on FB. As I will try to post everything going on with the series here but you can always find out whats going on via FB.
As of now I have the schedule set up for the 2014 season. Already i have 4 events set up.
May 17, 2014 RJD
June 14, 2014 Clark RC Park
July 12, 2014 Thunder Road Hobbies
August 9, 2014 River City Raceway, Peoria
September 6, 2014 LiveRC Raceway
October 4, 2014 Leisure Hours Raceway
Also Kyle Bronner has agreed to be the voice of mwns and announce every event. With Kyles excellent skills mwns events will go to a new level. Everyone at mwns is very excited to have Kyle aboard the team.
A few changes have been made to the program. I have decided to drop the E-Truggy class from the series. This was not easy but I wanted to make room for a few more popular classes. I am bringing back 2 SC classes, 2w open and 4w open. So the classes for the 2014 season are:
pro buggy/truggy
Intermediate buggy/truggy
E-Buggy
2w/4w open SC
I will post more info soon. There is a bunch of stuff going on I cant spill the beans on just yet. But trust me when I say this is going to be the biggest year yet.

The race order should be in that rule/guide book you said you were working on along with stuff like: Resort Round(s), Tie Breakers, Controlled practice length, Race length, Main starting method, Time between Rounds, Time between races, Drivers minute allowance, Qualifier starting method, when drivers are allowed on the stand, Scoring system setup, etc.. My personal opinion is the only thing that should be different at each event is the Location and Track -- Everything else should be run the same from race to race.
Not to mention information given to tracks on what is expected of them. I personally feel tracks should be required to have a fresh track that no one has run on - if that is not the case that's fine, but all the tracks should know whats expected.

I agree that some defined rules and consistency are needed. I'll also add in something regarding Friday practice. It takes a lot for people to get to the track on Friday, and running a race program on Friday really takes away from everyone's practice time. If it's a matter of a track trying to generate revenue, then charge a small fee for the Friday practice day. Either way, running a race program is pointless.

also maybe add drivers walk up the stand in qual order for all the mains (better qual position picks where they want to stand first)....
